Why do all these rappers always have a reference to a Devil in their songs?

i'm gonna post a couple of examples because i hear alot of songs with these references, i don't know if they blantantly put them their but its pretty weird


"the devil got a hold of me, he can't let go, i feel the lord pullin but he movin dead slow" - DMX I Can Feel It


"dwellin in the rotten apple, you get tackled or caught by the devil's lasso, *@#! is a hassle" - Nas - The World Is Yours


"Joe Crack, yeah man on fire Conversatin with the devil, rockin diamond messiahs" - Fat Joe - I'm Gone


" to all the real n**** sorry for keepin you waitin, it's ironic but the god was beefin with satan" - Jadakiss - Kiss Of Death

Not really weird at all. This is America, a christian country.

In christianity the devil represents bad/evil....God is good.

All of those rappers you quoted are dep/introspective rappers.

They are rapping about their internal struggles between good and bad.

One of those is a shot at Diddy.

This is not a difficult or mysterious concept.

The fact we have to keep addressing this shows how either A) how insecure some of you all are in your belief or lack thereof or B) the inability to comprehend lyrics.
