I saw a post on reddit about a crazy theory..

Basically the only reason wwe is pushing reigns is so the audience finds someone else who is wayyy worse than Cena, so they learn to appreciate Cena more. Then by wrestlemania 32, for the first time in a decade, the crowd will cheer cena over reigns in a cena vs reigns match, where everybody expects reigns to win in a passing of a torch match, but cena wins and buries reigns for the next few months. reigns whole push is part of the bigger picture to put over john cena and get him cheered again..
