Youtube is preparing to unleash a subscription service, like Spotify, Pandora, intended to enter the streaming music industry. They have made deals with major labels, but many indie labels refuse to join. The indie labels and artists aren't being offered the same deals as the major labels. If the labels refuse to join the service, there videos will be blocked, and no longer monetized. And in some situations, videos will be taking down. Basically, the music industry is trying to come in and get some of that streaming money, and the indie artists are getting screwed. Here a few articles to get a better understanding of it.
