This is always what people say as their argument for tipping...andit's 100% not true at all. It is illegal to pay someone below minimum wage in America, all that happens is servers have to report their tips and are TAXEDby the government for them, because it is income. (The rules might change...

JBurner...I feel you. But the question is, why should a restaurant be allowed to make tipping mandatory. A tip is a gratuity, a gift, a rewardgiven to someone for a job well done, without obligation. It should not be mandatory. .
