Yeah the whole military duty thing worries me as well. If I recall correctly they have pretty ridiculous standards for being granted athletic/entertainment exemptions too.
Son is their best player by miles, well liked, ... and South Korea can be very proud of him. Good for their image in sports.

Harry Kane should have scored when he rather complain about a supposed hand ball instead of continuing to go for the goal. Beta striker

Harry definitely needed to do better, not up to his usual quality at all. His shooting has been a bit off-form for a while now but in the league he still managed to pull a bunch of goals out of his bag and some beautiful passes. We didn't really get to see any of that from him today.

It's part of the reason I never got my dual citizenship to go play ball in korea. would've had to do 2 years of military before I could play as a domestic player rather than an import. no thanks

im a bit worried for son's future career. he still has to serve 2 years of military duty back home. he's almost at the threshhold where he can't put it off any more. I am really curious to see what he chooses to do. if he decides to renounce his citizenship, he will probably be blackballed in korea and can't play on the national team. the other option is to serve his mandatory duty and lose 2 years of his prime. only way around it is if the govt pardons him, but men that get a pardon for athletic/entertainment reasons are looked at funny in the light in korea
Crazy, didn’t know that. I’d revoke mu citizenship asap

In Korea, there’s talk of letting Son pay a tax allowing him to forgo serving his time in the military. There is also talk of letting him serve when he’s 35 when it’s presumed he’ll no longer be at top level.

Sucks bcs the 2012 Olympic bronze medal winning Korean team all got excused from military service & Son was at Hamburg playing well... Think he had like 20 goals during his time there but was never called up for the NT...

Now that I think about it, I think there’s a revision in the law now that says is the NT gets to the round of 16 of the WC, they get exempt..

Yup I remember being bummed he wasn't a part of that team. Hopefully if he can pull off a miracle and get us into like the quarters of the WC this summer they'll grant everyone a pardon haha

Belgium Belgium , that Spurs Stranger Things intro is legit! Not only do I love the show but I love the soundtrack... I bought the soundtracks for seasons 1 & 2 on deluxe vinyl not that long ago...

Big fan of the show as well. It's more of a mockery intro though since the "lads it's Tottenham" is commonly used for that purpose but I thought it was pretty great how they put it together with the Stranger Things intro  Think it was made by some Liverpool fan if I recall correctly.

I’ll be back August! You going to come visit DC my guy?

Better yet, let’s do a Miami weekend haha?
I'm down for DC, my uncle lives just a few miles outside.

Come to Miami Columbus Day weekend for Carnival, I guarantee you won't be disappointed and won't want to leave.

City and Liverpool might very well be the only English clubs left in the UCL

Chelsea most definitely could still go through, tall task of course away from home but 1-1 in the first leg was a great result imo

That being said, I really hope Barca and Citeh matchup at some point. Would be great in a final but i think that matchup deserves 2 legs
