Yesterday was the first real game for a team that’s only been practicing together for like a week and a half.

Making judgments about the quality of the team and what they might be lacking is like asking what’s “wrong” with playoff quality NBA game because they lose their first pre-season game
They’re still by far the best players in the world

not gonna get too much into it

******** trade proposal SZN

-name redacted- and Shake for No Knees Kemba and SGA?

If the best you can get for Ben Simmons is the tier of Buddy Hield, D'Angelo Russell and CJ McCollum, do you just hold onto him?

Theoretically yes. Right handed -name redacted- hitting ~70% FTs is still a top player/AS.

CJ is probably the one dude I’d do that swap for if I’m impatient. But CJ is also the guard version of Tobias which is also kinda funny

If simmons is as invaluable as folks say he is in the playoffs then someone of ratsulls caliber should be an instant upgrade.. especially if embiid is so hindered by simmons

definitely hold on to him until Simmons can raise his own value next year.

Problem you run into is it's really hard to trade $30M a year (or whatever he makes) mid-season and you can't roll with him in the playoffs again after what just happened.

What would it take for him to raise his value though? Is he going to all of the sudden start shooting? With his right hand at that?

He's a good player, but he's still a 3rd/4th option. Those types are what other teams are probably going to be willing to give up for him. Especially since he makes so much money.

The only way simmons is raising his trade value is by performing better in late rounds of the playoffs

His regular season achievements are going to stay the same for the most part

That's about what he's worth. Throw brogdon in there too. Don't see his value being any higher than that

Consistent aggression, 70% FTs

also,

Chris Mannix: I hear from executives all the time that are loving this ‘Ben Simmons trade value has cratered’ conversation because they hope that Philadelphia believes that. I think his trade value is actually higher than than what’s being publicly portrayed. But you’re going to continue to hear a lot of the negativity around Ben Simmons. In other words, I think people value him pretty high across the league because I do think there’s a belief that someone’s going to figure the shooting thing out.
