Come on Gunna... you know smith was overrated as a runner. people only called him that because he was black and mobile, but it's not like dude was flying down the field. he was a pass first qb imo.

He came in as a rb and returned kicks...
ok... the two years of smith i saw a lot of, he wasn't a qb that tucked it and looked to run every chance he got (imo like a kirby freeman). he seemed very comfortable lining up under center, reading defenses, and passing the ball. even in the open field before taking off hed always be looking ahead down field.

I dunno, I guess what made me comment on that was I always hear Smith used as the argument for running qbs thriving in a more traditional style offense, when to me it always seemed like Smith was more of a McNabb than a Vick.
Yeah, I'd say

Troy Smith / McNabb
Pat White / Vick

I think those are fair comparisons, in terms of the style of quarterback. To me, White is a better passer than Vick was at the college level though.

Hey Dre, looks like Haulstead is all FSU. Not surprising really. We gave it the old college try but he said that his official to FSU was probably the best ofall of them. All he really needed was a slightly better than average official to stay committed. Wish we could have gotten him but oh well. Might just have tosettle for JeRon Stokes and Cam Gordon for the WRs this class. Not too bad IMO. Also helps that Jeremy Jackson and Ricardo Miller are already on board for the2010 class. Those 2 are real good.

I wasn't too worried, but still. You never know in the world of recruiting. Willie is a beast. He just needs tostay out of trouble.

Y'all will be alright though.

Ricardo is the goods too.

ehh. Idk if they will actually get into trouble. Seems like that rule isn't that big of a deal.

They used to do that %%%@ like crazy back in the 90's

What is the rule UT has supposedly broken?

Kind of funny though after all those years with Fulmer that they could get hit with something now.

, some BS rule about not being able to simulate a gameday atmosphere.

They had recruits w/ personalized jerseys and they ran thru the 'smoke'...and some other %+!@.

I forgot

I'm not defending Kentucky and the likely lack of intelligence in that state...but you don't exactly sound like a friggin genius.

The University of Miami is expected to finalize the hiring of Mark Whipple as offensive coordinator, a person close to the situation said Sunday night.
Whipple, a member of the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff, is going to meet with Miami officials in South Florida on Monday. The only thing holding up an announcement is human resource procedures, according to a source. Whipple had a chance to be promoted within the Eagles' staff but has said he wants to call plays again and return to the college game. Miami officials could not confirm on Sunday night that Whipple is expected to be hired.
Now we just gotta find another DC.

UT's coaching staff can't do that (doesn't just about every program do that for official visits?

), yet their boosters can get away with giving cash to recruits for years. Golden.

Hell yeah. And I could state more but if this +@%% is true, I'm not about to snitch on my own school. I've also heard countless otherinstances of other schools doing it, so is this a new rule or is it just (possibly) being enforced to make a point? That's why it's funny to me, withall of the other dirty business that goes on.

Dudes been going in on Mike lately...

NikeTalk's very own Emmitt Smith...

Tajh Boyd's announcing tomorrow now. All three schools think he's coming to their school. There's so much speculation going on, I'm not evengoing to attempt a prediction. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at any of the 3 schools at this point.
