I'm not too familiar with the older makes of the Jams but the patent leather looks like it has the orange peel effect which normally means fake but I did read somewhere that the '09 had garbage QC and some pairs were real bad. I did however find this post on this site. It has a ton of info and was put together really well with detailed pics. Have a look.

I dont know about these. The soles are still too icy for an 09 release. Usually by now they are yellowed all the way through the outsole.
