Cadillacs are heavy as hell and handle like %@%+. Before I started using my moms Caddy i had a Dinan Tuned BMW 5 series and the feel of the was so different.Caddy's handle like boats but feel pretty stable doing 90 in a straight line. Just remember to slow down SUBSTANTIALLY for corners because they have atendency to slide...I have a habbit of forgetting that

i had a 72 cadi back in 05 with couch seets all leather brown paint and it rode clean and smooth couldnt feel the bumps sold it for 1000 that same exact day asi was pulling out to work this broad smashed the back right corner of my other a car and since i didnt have a licence she was gunna call the cops which wouldagame me more bills and points on my record i cashed her out 500 sucked

That 4.6L Northstar will get you about 17 in the city if you don't drive like an as_, and up to 27 mpg on the highway on roadtrips. I drive an '01DTS/Deville and I still love the car. Smoothest ride ever, but definitely a boat around the turns. Definitely take it over the Pathfinder.

Gas is going to kill you in this car. You'll spend as much on gas as you paid for the car before the Spring hits.

Have none but a plain black one with little dents around the front fender and a bit of rust at the back... looks its age... drives well though

i have a 99 cadillac deville. i recently drove it from wisconsin to florida and it was smooth. mine has 95k on it. great car
edit: mine has a 20 gallon tank and gas isnt that bad for having a V8 northstar. you wont be disappointed especially for that price

got a 96 for what i thought was a steal, test drove perfect...turns out the dealership had basically done enough to get it through a test drive.

Good lookin out on this advice.. I don't have a mechanic I trust but is there a way to predict whether the head gaskets are going to blow or not?
Basically I used to have a white 99 Deville that looked just like that. Before you test drive it, look under the hood to see if you can tell if coolant hasbeen added recently. Ask them if you can drive it for at least 10 minutes. Volenteer to put gas in if they complain. If they dont, dont buy it, becausechances are it will have a cracked head just like mine and mizzles did. Mine cracked about two years after I got it though. It's quick and REALLYcomfortable, but you have to keep it up.

My brother has one the same year and his head gasket is blown, he put some blue devil in it and its been holding up.

The condition of the car looks great. You gotta watch out though alot of ppl get there cars well enough to pass an inspection I think someone already said thisbut a expert mechanic is important also ask the seller if theres roll back miless cause alot cars just get switch the dash display from the junkyard and checkif tht chassis is good theres a lot of caddys that have that common problem. but if all is well sounds like a good pickup smooth ride!
