2003-05 Audi A4 question

Do these cars have major reliability issues or something? I was looking at tsx's and I came across so many a4s that were so much cheaper then tsxs. Arethey known to have maintenance problems like the E46s do?

Edit since I was looking at cars like the TSX, or A4. A friend of mine knows somebody selling a IS300 for around 10K thats got mileage in the 55K range. Heneeds to sell it quick but I have never been in one do you guys like that car?

I don't know if they have alot of problems, but I know their expensive to maintain. Plus when something does go wrong it's going to cost you more tofix it.

i owed 2 of them, the 1.8T and the 3.0 quattro. they can be very expensive to maintain. i did not have a lot of problems with either car but if you are goingto buy a car that old i would highly recommend that you try to find the 3.0 quattro. the 1.8T is turbocharged and that could mean lots of repair in thefuture. the 3.0 is a V6 so you gotta figure over the life of the car the V6 engine is going to do a better job of holding up in the long run. the 3.0 quattrois really fun to drive. i was actually choosing between the IS and the A4 back then too and i ended up with the A4 with no regrets, that's why i boughttwo

had to step it up to the A6 4.2 quattro, lovin audi

I have my sights on a A4 or A6 within the next two years. I don't know if it is a good idea or not. I live in a rural area so I would have to drive 150+miles to have it repaired or matained. Still doing my homework.

My one of the executive assistants' husband at my job owns an Audi dealership. We've discussed about how the reliability from 03-05 istrash and he agrees. Quality Control was slippin' during those years.
