2010 NBA Trade Deadline thread

We all read how Dampier's contract is a game changer, and they want to use it on Rip?

Maybe the change of scenary will help DJ, and I guess they're looking for GA's replacement, but I like what I'm seeing from Blatche. He could pan out to something solid.

And, I heard from two sources that the Wizards reached out to the Charlotte Bobcats, offering Blatche for point guard D.J. Augustin. That conversation didn't go very far, but it is interesting to see where the Wizards go from here.

Great lineup but not championship lineup and they will have the worst cap situation in the league for years to come... not smart

And if this trade goes down.. The knicks have two options wiped off their board.. Leaving them with only Bosh and Wade as the two superstars left and considering miami has the cash to keep D-Wade and sign Bosh... This could be terrible for them next summer. Somewhere Donny walsh is cookin up a trade to send the entire knicks roster + spike for amare

I guess we don't have Marion anymore?

Really, I don't see why we'd do this.

Who would we have to back-up Haywood? Dirk? Marion? Tim Thomas?

If it goes down, countdown to implosion for the Cavs.

ya but a legit superstar like bron is will put his #+# in check. plus he can play the pick and roll with bron the same way he does with nash now.

Steve kerr Cant be that dumb to do that trade, like nas said if he gave up jrich horrible contract then maybe he could spin he was dumping contracts but he is not even doing that.

...and he can give up the pick n roll like he does now too?

Edit:  Lebron isnt even close to Nash in terms of running the pick n roll/ passing abilities so thats a bad comparison.

As painful as it sounds for Knicks fans, but 2011 will also be important for potential free agents.  Assuming they don't get traded, Jefferies and Curry both come off the books, plus whatever space they still have.  I haven't even considered Wade coming here, I see his only destinations either staying put, or going to Chicago.

Amare to Cleveland, barring some sort of epic meltdown between the Cavs, pretty much seals the deal for Lebron to stay.

But LeBron is a GREAT passer, so there won't be much, if any, of a drop-off on the offensive end....

I'll be curious to see if Amar'e makes any effort to play defense though....

Joe Johnson will stay in Atlanta. He's a Southern boy, and he's playing for a winner now, as the main man.

I can see it going either way, although I think it's going to be a formula for success. I HOPE AND PRAY it'll backfire and they'll implode sending LeBron to Portland (Hey, Portland needs some love to, they never mention the Big O Oregon as a possible destination).

Unfortunately, it'll probably work out just fine.

Although the thing I'm more intrigued to see is how Shaq and Amare will do together, again.

QFT! if this deal does go down.

No %*!%!+ way Dallas trades Dampier's contract for sorry %+@ Rip Hamilton and that albatross contract...

Apperently Mr. Ferry was watching the magic cavs game closely last thursday. Its obvious that orlando has gotten into the head of danny ferry, reason I state that is because cleveland has always had a hard time beating orlando even at home. orlando played them very closely thru half-way of the 4th quarter. Even if they do get amare id still say they can't beat orlando in a 7-game series. It all comes down to 1 word.......CHEMISTRY, so why fix something that is not broken??????

That's what I'm wondering as well.  Things are going SO well for Cleveland, so why shake things up?  They don't need Amar'e.  I dunno if this is just to appease LeBron or what, but if they make this move and it backfires a lot of people are going to be laughing.  Like JapanAir said, it can go either way....

if you dont make a move, and lose again to Orlando....you potentially lose the franchise, literally.

If they get Amare and still lose, nobody will be saying "If they only kept on to Hickson"

he has to make this move to show bron there is a future with the cavs

with or with out amare the lakers and magic could beat the cavs in a 7 game serise IMO

but adding amare would give them a better shot now and in the future
