Oh no, the owner supported the coach!

:lol

(Why did Kobe stay with the Lakers after Fish left? Surely these dudes don't just say things that sound good.)

Mitch trying to tell the fans that tanking is all part of the plan

"Good job Byron"

Odd timing seeing as they just won

. The games are actually competitive, just watch with an eye on the development of guys like jc davis and black to have something to look for
c'mon man - you know what I mean.  I'd even take what the wolves have - a bright future.

Outside of Clarkson, 100% of the rest of the team could be gone in a year or two.  Thats not fun to watch.

Lets just hope Byron knows something from Mitch who knows something from Silver.

I mean, what the **** else is there to believe.

We lose this pick, 1 of 2 things happens:

1- Mitch panics, signs one of Rondo, Love, or both this summer. Lakers get semi-competitive next year but don't contend for the foreseeable future.

2- We stay calm. Knowing we still have our pick next year. We don't sign anybody and just let Kobe play out his final year. Which means we TANK AGAIN next year. By that time I will pretty much hate anyone associated with Lakers. I already pretty much hate everyone on this team this year. Personally can't stomach year 3 of this ****.

And if we keep the pick:

Finish 4th- most likely get jumped one and pick 5th. Don't care much for Stanley Johnson or Krispy boy. We still suck next year. Ends up in the lottery again next year and lose the pick on top of that.

Finish 3rd- Pretty much guarantees we keep the pick, most likely in the top 4 range for one of D'lo, Towns, Okafor, Mudiay. The only 4 potential impact players in this draft IMO. Picking top 4 is pretty much the only way salvaging this hot mess. So yes, THIS GAME ******* MATTERS BYRON.

Towns
Okafor
Russell
Mudiay
Willie Cauley Stein

We "should" get one of them. Question is, do you want the first-second choice?

Or the leftover? Just depends.

I think we're safe enough getting our pick, just a matter of will we get the one that makes this season worth it?

You guys are unreal. :lol

"Will this win hurt if you don't get your desired pick?"
"It will, man. We were really counting on scoring less than the 76ers tonight, you know, to improve our bottom positioning. Just didn't really work out like that."

You expect... THAT? Like for real? :rollin

No.

"Will this hurt your positioning?"
"Not really. :lol "

That should bear no more or less weight on your opinion of him if you're reasonable.

How bout, "yeah, if we lose this pick, this game will be one that hurt, but I coach to win"

Is that so difficult?

Saying no, it won't hurt, is ******* beyond stupid, and a flat out lie. Yes, it would in fact hurt, a lot. And be a HUGE waste of a season, in which ours ended roughly 4 months ago anyways.

you're missing the point, by saying "yeah, if we lose this pick, this game will be one that hurt,'...that says that this win hurts us. which in turn means we wanted to lose. He answered it correctly. If we lose the pick, we lose the pick. nobody is going to die. Besides, his answer, regardless of what it was, changes nothing. Will it hurt behind the scenes? sure, why would any team, or anybody for that matter come out and say damn these wins suck?

i swear you guys just talk sometimes. And not just you CP, not singling you out..although..you are habitual with the line stepping. lol

CP begs to differ

I really want them to draft Towns but I don't want to expect. I don't want to be disappointed. :(

If we have Randle and Towns, I'll be in the running for most annoying NTer.

If we have Randle, and Towns coming off a championship, I will absolutely be the most annoying NTer. :lol

Wait a minute .....wait a minute, wait a cotton...well I'm not gonna finish the rest of that :lol

In the beginning of the year many demanded keeping the top 5 pick. Thats all that mattered. Just keep the Top 5. All we want is to keep the Top 5.
NOW all of a sudden the FO is terrible once again for not getting in the Top 4????
Like I get it. If you are gonna tank, TANK. And if you have the opportunity to get as high as you can than so be it, especially since the difference makers are gonna land picks 1-4 But my God! :lol .... it's like the organization does what we want them to do but not good enough lol.
I mean I get it I totally get it and somewhat agree only due to the possibility of getting jumped. But if we keep going at the rate we go we will land in the top 5 and its a crapshoot from there. Just stop expecting human beings to be perfect like we all want them to. /rantfin

If we strike out on Okafor or Towns and are lucky enough to get Mudiay or Russel, should we go all in on DeAndre Jordan (assuming Marc Gasol resigns)?

Russel or Mudiay/Clarkson

Kobe/Clarkson

_____/Young

Randle/Kelly

Jordan/Davis/Sacre

It's not hard to comprehend. The difference between the top 4 prospects and number 5 is huge. And quite frankly it would be a disappointment when securing better position is right within arms reach.

wolves will probably take a big

knicks might take a big

6ers go with a guard right?

Sixers will take Towns and trade Noel. Heinke is nuts.

What happens if we move to Third Worst, but 4th Worst gets the #1 pick and we end up the 4th pick. Then we blew it.

Or if we stay 4th and get 1st or 2nd. Then we made the right move.

It's all hypothetical...

What if the 4.6% happens and 3 ends up 6 this season, and we dodge the bullet staying 4th and end up in top 3? Or we move to the 3rd worst record, and God hates us and we lose the pick anyway.

I get wanting to limit odds of losing the pick. That makes perfect sense. But we have no idea where this pick lands in the lottery, or whether moving up or moving back helps or hurts us. Because either scenario is possible.

I.e. Last year, we win the last couple games, and end up 6th worst instead of 4th or 5th worst. And we get the 7th pick, they got 5th and 6th. And we got the guy we wanted anyway for cheaper.. Were we going to take Exum over Randle? NO. Were we going to take Smart over Randle? NO. Were we going to take Stauskas over Randle? NO.

We have no idea where this pick lands.

If that happens oh well. We need to be in the top 4 period. Only way that's guaranteed is by having a bottom 3 record.

Nothing is guaranteed.. Being a 1-4 pick is not guaranteed for anybody but the worst team, and under no circumstance were we ever going to get that.

We don't even know who will get drafted.. Just because it's Okafor, Towns, Mudiay, Russell as top 4 in mock drafts.. Does not mean it will stay that way. One of them (Mudiay or Russell) could easily end up as # 5.

We don't know a lot of things, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be maximizing every opportunity to keep the pick first and foremost or upping the percentages to move up.
