Absolutely not. Aaron Gordon is a hell of a defender and has a HUGE basketball IQ. Love that kid...don't know about him being a superstar in the NBA but I think he can be a prime Shawn Marion level player.
T-Rob's rookie summer league games were a big red flag to me, even though those games are meaningless. He was a man amongst boys in college but he got out there right after he got drafted and was trying to make himself a point forward and just doing dumb *** **** I never saw him attempt in college. He carried that on to the regular season games in the NBA.

He's a #1 or 2 pick for sure but it's going to be a lot of fun to look back at all of these posts if this guy doesn't live up to what he's supposed to be

Gordon is super athletic, and plays hard and all that...but the only way he gonna get a bucket in the NBA is from crashing the boards or a good PG setting him up...not even close to the AK 47, Prime Shawn Marion comparisons ive seen in here ...much more closer to a more athletic Farried or a smaller Nets Kenyon Martin as far as offensively imo

Aaron Gordon is a PF...easily has the ability to take other PFs off the dribble from the elbow to finish in the paint and is a good pick and roll player as well. I don't agree with all the tweener talk.

Well he could be better than a few big men but case in point, the dude is being gassed to unreal levels right now. That was my original point with the Hakeem thing, no, I didn't think anyone was saying Embiid will be Hakeem but let's tap the breaks a little. People got upset and told me it was an appropriate comparison because "they put up similar stats their first year in college, Embiid was from Africa, watched Hakeem highlights growing up and pulled off some Dream shakes at Kansas". I mean, you can't make this stuff up.
There's no doubt in my mind he could be a great NBA player but the guy's stock has always been off the charts with folks.. a bit too high, and if anyone disagrees folks get super sensitive. This thread will be good fun if dude doesn't pan out like people think he will.

He's 6'9, 220 lbs. Lets put this in perspective. KD is 6'9, 240 lbs, rail thin and one weakness is his strength. But somehow Aaron Gordon is suppose to muscle with and compete with PFs like Zach Randolph, David West, Serge Ibaka, etc.???

You don't have to outmuscle people when you can get a step on them easily. Not one of those guys you mentioned can stick with him in a face-up situation. He can also abuse them with easy cuts to the rim. And he can add weight over time also but facing up close to the rim will probably be his best bet, along with cleaning up on the offensive glass.

Aaron Gordon's game and style is similar to me of Blake Griffin's. Blake has and inch and 40 lbs on Gordon and those exact same PFs still have Griffin's number to this day

Seems like virtually every prospect has their issues or question marks. Nevertheless I feel like everyone in the first round will get an intriguing player

tbh whether Gordon is a tweener or not I don't think his weight hurts him in terms of getting rebounds. Not to mention he's not looked at as an elite rebounder on the next level anyway. More of an energy guy and a guy who will defend multiple positions. Shawn Marion for instance has always weighed 220-230 and he did fine on the boards using his quickness like Gordon has.

Offensively yeah there are concerns, mainly his shooting. Again, that won't be his role though, offensively he'll be depended upon to get points off boards and dunks to start his career.
He's still worth a top 10 pick when it's all said and done

I would completely agree. I just feel that if a team drafted him, I hope they would know they would getting someone who would be a top 3rd best player on a NBA team and not a franchise player or #2 option

They do? Aside from maybe getting tossed to the ground for being obnoxious Blake performs pretty well. TS% is somewhat low but he's averaging a double double against all those teams those opposing PFs you've listed play for.

Aaron Gordon won't be looked at as a primary offensive option either way but he can find a way to get points against opposing PFs.

I dont think he will be a bust. But I dont think he's the second coming of Hakeem either.
Prolly gonna end up being a decent starter with averages of 12 & 9.
I feel people already marked him for stardom.
Dudes forget a most of these prospects dont pan out.

this might sound strange and i know people don't always stand straight up when they are playing or walking but every time blake is matched up or close by a player listed at 6'9-6'10, he's significantly shorter. for example, when he was matched up with ibaka, i think ibaka had at least 2 inches on him.

Embiid will never achieve his potential unless he slips to Boston/LA or Hakeem takes it upon himself to kidnap him. those other teams will have no clue how to develop a raw big man. I like what I've heard about philly and noel but I doubt they draft him. shame really.

it depends on coaching and the organization... their next hire will be a big factor into how bennett, their pick this year, and to a lesser extent waiters/thompson develop, the last 2 guys might just be who they are at this point tho
