This isn't Marvin at Lowe's cutting his 35K salary to 21K, this is the NBA with 3 guys who've already made enough money for many lifetimes

Then don't give them more than 5 mil each :lol
Lebae doesn't seem to agree with you either seeking a max deal

No one gives Bosh enough credit. He could lead a team and did. Just because you sacrificed your game to make everyone around you better does not mean he is the weak link. Bosh could probably get what he will get with Heat in the re-up. And I am not a Bosh fan by any means.

I'm a bosh fan.

But if you think he could get what he would get with a reup with the Heat, in the open market, you are sadly mistaken. He changed his style of play to make the heat as successful as possible, which was very noble of him. But, in the process he killed his market value, relative to what he would have gotten had he opted in with the Heat.

Does Bosh have the talent to lead a team to the playoffs yes does he want to no.

Bosh is a very good to great player but there are too many times where he just doesn't do anything some of that is him, the offense and pg play.

The fact that Wade, Bosh, and Haslem all opted out speaks volumes to what the Heat are trying to accomplish IMO it also to me proves that they are doing this cohesively and together.

Bosh knows he won't get as much in the open market. Wade definitely does know this as well. So for them (along with Haslem) to opt out knowing that that means getting less money, (Not to mention this is their last "big" payday) to me signifies that they are all in as far as trying to "retool" this team and making sure that they not only get to the finals, but get over the hump that is the western conference. Like i've said before, I would not be surprised if Bron doesn't get a max deal (or doesn't take a max deal). From their actions, it seems like they have all agreed on doing what it takes to make the Heat a championship caliber team.

the rockets right now would give bosh close to the max. stop.

he's sacrificed his production for the heat. that's the only reason i say they should let him walk. for what THEY NEED as a team, they can farm out among multiple players. they've turned bosh into their sole defensive big, and a stretch 4 on offense. hypothetically signing pau and gortat, gortat and frye, they can almost match his production for roughly the same amount of money.

don't mistake that to think other teams don't know his true value. he could conservatively get 18-8 for the rockets on a nightly basis.

Bosh has definitely changed his game into a stretch 4, essentially becoming a glorified Sam Perkins.

I still think he has it in him, but his role now is all about spacing the floor for LeBron to operate. He's still young enough to command a decent contract in the open market though, albeit not a max one.

Heat are all opting out only to have other teams blow up their roster trying to get them. Then, they're going to stay and restructure. Basically doing the same thing in 2010...just a different way. Teams are going to be a step behind thinking they had a chance to get them.

Meanwhile, other decent players are going to get tired of waiting and the level of talent will be more spread out. God...I hate the Heat.

That's my theory.

LeBron isn't going West. He doesn't want to deal with them all season...Clippers/Thunder/Spurs/Warriors/Rockets and whoever else may arise from the current dominant teams. Him and the loaded Heat can continue beating on teams barely above .500 and smooth sail to the Finals, as usual.

$55M in cap space now. The hard cap is expected to rise another 5 to 7 million.

Welcome to the NBAAU.

i believe all of this. Lebron already know what he's gonna do, he's already told whoever his choice is and his plan and now its being executed. I respect drose for not tryna recruit people. You already know the organization and history you either coming or not.  On top of that he coulda been spying on intel trying to find out what other teams are planning to do when he meets with them.

Actually the Rockets are a team I could see doing this, mainly because of his fit alongside DH, style of play, and 3 point shooting. He's an upgrade over Jones, but I'm not so sure HOU wants to spend their cap room on that.

I see LeBron getting the max, with Wade having to suck it up and take the 3rd highest salary (higher number of years though) on the team after Bosh. They'll need to collude (ugh) with one other superstar / great player to get what they want though.

I think wade has a trick up his sleeve. He could sign any deal he wants, claim injury, and ride the pine to the pay checks :hat

Forget the reports, Bron won't push for a max because Miami still won't have any money to upgrade the roster and Wade & Bosh did not opt out so Arison could pay Bron & still avoid the luxury tax.

Bosh got 37 points and 10 rebounds at Portland this past season

He still has it in him

And he's the one hitting the clutch shots the majority of the time

Oh that's different

Disagree. People overestimate everything he has done. Its all wade and the city itself. Riley just gets the credit.

Wade convinced bosh and lebron to come. To Riley to free u cap space. Then ring chasing vets come to a warm city with no income tax.

Can't say players are taking their careers into their own hands and then create the illusion of Riley being a genius. Them AAU boys just wanna have fun and stack the deck in a crap confrence. You can applaud them for winning just don't pretend it's anything else.

Dwaye Wade masterminded the Heat getting the Big 3 and the salary cap magically going up 1 million that season and Pat Riley just happened to be there too????

He's saying Wade convinced Lebron and Bosh to come

If you knew 3 superstars wanted to come, alot GMs could get creative with their salary cap

I agree, I can see them going for Bosh and Rondo.  That line up would be crazy

Rondo

Harden

Whoever (would have to let Parsons walk to Boston)

Bosh

Howard

No genius... Riley cleared cap room because wade told him bron and bosh were coming. Nobody else had a tip like that. Do you think someone involved in insider trading is a genius?

Exactly what mister friendly said.

we're at roughly 44 million in cap before resigning parsons, and getting rid of lin.

how do you figure we get bosh and rondo with 20 million in cap?

There's no way you could make that HOU lineup work. Harden would likely have to go out in a trade to make the numbers match up for salary cap purposes.
