. His brother, Wendell, also plays in-state as a defensive end for Tulane. The top-100 national recruit was rewarded with playing time as a true freshman despite the team's depth at the position (11 tackles, including a strip-sack against Florida). Beckwith started seven games as a sophomore, taking over the middle linebacker spot (77 stops, 7.5 for loss, two sacks). He kept that job throughout 2015, ranking second on the team with 84 tackles (10 for loss, 3.5 sacks). Scouts really took notice with his play as a senior, though, as he picked up first-team All-SEC notice. He was leading the team with 91 tackles, six for loss, before tearing his left ACL against Florida.
Productive full-time starter over last two and a half seasons on talented LSU defenses. Has the size and spirit to play for teams expecting physicality from their inside linebacker, but his game comes with some athletic and coverage limitations. Before his injury, he could have come off the board on Day 2, but may see his stock fall into the third day now. He has starter's ability when healthy.
