Like I said,

Modern day Dubois vs. Booker T Washington argument lol

But i don't even think it was/is THAT deep, as far as the philosophy of what they wanted accomplished.. cause I think the intent from all involved, inclusive of kaep and Reid, was to come to some sort of agreement

The owners obviously, like most things, had no real clue on how to deal with the PR and practicality application of the whole thing.. so they figured throw money at the most prominent players involved in the whole thing and hope it goes away (and notice marshawn wasn't an issue, cause the public didn't even really notice)

AND I fully expect the players to make a bad deal, because these dudes make terrible deals on their own contracts.. and they weaken their own bargaining power when it comes time for the CBAs

This obviously is very personal for Reid (although 1 of the guys involved is right in his lockerroom, Torrey smith).. but when they talk about who is at the forefront of the thing being an issue, it seems like they are losing focus on what good they were trying to accomplish Tom start out with

All I wanted to see this season was progress coming into this year with last year basically being a throw away season. Fox was coaching to save his job not develop a Rookie QB with limited WR help at best.

He's been about average to above average this year with my eye test, but the plays are there to be made. Nagy can really scheme people to get open and they are, he's just missing some throws, but I am overall pleased so far with what I've seen this year so far.

Ironically I see the Jets this season how the Bears were last season, Rookie QB with limited WR help / Injuries. This offseason I think they make the moves to surround Darnold with help

Need to hear both sides tho, word to Nick

Think the most we'll get from both sides, is matching up the timelines of stuff Reid said and then josh Norman

maybe whoever was the source of the info the undefeated had in their original article on the split.. the text messages and the demands of reid and co (wanting kaep are th front and guaranteed a job, since this was prior to him being out of the league)

Only problem is there is nobody really hitting free agency next year for wide receivers. Next years class is pretty thin.

Draft has some pretty good receivers that should be available.. and guys always get cut

Is that the only thing the players coalition has done?

Is that the only thing those involved with the players coalition have done?

Does that agreement prevent anyone involved with the players coalition from doing other things?

Does that agreement stop anyone not involved from doing anything?

Most likely nothing real or tangible came from those meetings when a NFL owner says this

"The players had real leverage," an NFL owner says. "But we knew we could sit back and watch them implode."

http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/st...ement-endures-supporters-more-fragmented-ever

**** was all PR from the owners after Trump made it real clear he's a racist, so the owners had to do some damage control to not look like him.

My point, this goes both ways..

That group could only speak for themselves and commit for themselves..

Hell, I'd argue this is the best thing that could have happened for kaep and his cause.. he gets a way bigger platform and it shows the true colors of the owners, that nike is now seeking to benefit from

And if the players were smart this would be a major issue within the CBA negotiations

And as far as the players (and way too much of our society) this applies to way more than this:

"we knew we could sit back and watch them implode."

Jets can be compared to your Bears for sure, just 1-2 years behind ya guys. We should have been in on Mack heavy.

A change at HC is a must. Get an offensive minded guy for a change. Drafting a stud WR and o-line help also needs to be the priority. BUILD AROUND DARNOLD. It ain't a hard plan to follow.

Your Avy tho  Yeah for sure, that exact model needs to be followed and I think y'all will be good. I like Darnold and I love Jamal Adams man

Yeah, your defense really isnt bad at all. I think having a competent offense would help take pressure off the defense a bit. Sign and draft line and wide receivers and it should be a good start.

bishopstrongbow bishopstrongbow junglejim junglejim I really would love to hire a guy like DeFilippo if he would be willing. A defensive mind like Bowles, who frankly has overstayed his welcome here as the head guy, is going to stunt Darnold's growth.

I don't believe the WR FA class is all that juicy, which is why I suggested thru the draft. ****, if Bell would be willing to sign with us at the 'right price', I say do it.

If I had a young QB I'd look at flip (Vikings OC).. and at least interview andy's current OC.. also look at rams people, no clue about anyone other than mcvay

What's bizarre about Washington is it's hard to fully understand how they're dominating. But perhaps we just don't need to look any further than the trenches to see how the ******** are winning these football games. Defensively, they've been outstanding against the run and it's been a huge net positive.

Opponent (Week) Top Rusher Rushing Yards
Cardinals (Week 1)

David Johnson

Colts (Week 2)

Jordan Wilkins

61

Packers (Week 3)

Aaron Jones

42

Saints (Week 5)

Mark Ingram

53

Panthers (Week 6)

Christian McCaffrey

Cowboys (Week 7)

Ezekiel Elliott

Giants (Week 8)

Saquon Barkley

Look at list over the last four weeks: Ingram, McCaffrey, Elliott and Barkley? Those are four of the most dangerous running backs in the entire NFL. Say what you want about the Ingram thing, what with the ******** getting blasted and the Saints throwing all over them. That's fine. But since that game, the ******** have won three straight outings against physical NFC teams who want to put the ball on the ground and run first and foremost.
