I already know Jordan Clarkson want out

It’s really sad street hockey never took off.

And what they did to the X games is criminal. Really missed out on some exciting sports :smh:

To me “regular” hockey died post lockout during the mid 2000’s. Hockey in the 1990’s was dope and they had players who had a household name. I’m a whole black dude and knew who Eric Lindros was/is.

I hope you apply this same logic to whatever job you have. Just blindly work cause other people said.

I’m just annoyed at all these gimmicks that the nba has to toss around because players don’t take the regular season serious anymore. Yet they want all the money.

Michael Jordan took a december game in Utah as serious as he did/would Utah game in June.

The league markets the players. League revenue & franchise valuations continue to increase each year.

Total league revenue just topped $10 billion for the first time ever.

Sounds like the players approach is working just fine

Michael Jordan also didn't have the access to science or full understanding of his value or else he certainly would have taken games off cause it just makes logical sense.

Not that I really disagree but profits aren't exactly an indication that the approach is working. As evidenced by the league exploring changes to how the season operates. Part of that enormous amount of money comes from the fans, who have been complaining for a little while about the players' actions. At the end of the day, all parties involved need to enjoy the product, not just the people profiting

Doubt it, Mike was a maniac and came up in a completely different era. Sounds good though

No doubt, I agree. league ain’t perfect.

Its a for-profit business first & foremost, so this is a move to get even more money from the TV sponsors.

They’ve already added the 4 play-in games and now you get 1 more from this, plus the added “significance” of the tournament games leading up to the final.

In the process the league also makes an attempt to address excessive load managing.

As long as it gives us good games

Anyone got the hookup in League Pass for this upcoming season?

Didn’t know 2K23 Chamionship Edition was pre-order only digitally so I’m stuck with just the Michael Jordan edition.

I don’t think MJ can be used as an example for anything - he was just an extra-terrestrial and kids these days don’t know it. He was a once in a generation athlete who was also a competitive lunatic which is a scary combination.

I read an interview recently with David Robinson talking about the ‘92 Olympics. I think it was when they were practicing in Monte Carlo - Mike would play 2 rounds of golf, spend the night in the casino, have a nap, then dominate the practice - and the Admiral was just shaking his head.

That’s coming from a phenomenal athlete and he was practicing against some of the greatest of all time on no sleep night after night - just another level.
