It's been 162 games for 63 years.

It wasn't ridiculous in 1970
It wasn't ridiculous in 1980
It wasn't ridiculous in 1990
It wasn't ridiculous in 2000
It wasn't ridiculous in 2010
It wasn't ridiculous in 2020

It's the length of the Major League Baseball schedule. Has been since the day you were born, your parents were born, and maybe even some of our grandparents.

So it hasn't always been that long of a season then. Just seems like an overly long season by modern standards. nba and nhl got 82 games and that much already feel like long seasons with a few slow stretches.

you really gotta keep head on a swivel. i was up against the wall where no netting is - i can over look the railing onto LF

Sosa was batting and hit an absolute LAZER down 3rd base line. ball had to be about 6-10 inches out of reach and smacked the dude right behind me in the chest
