2025 NBA Draft Thread

Even if you don't think he's washed he's still 6'6 PF who can't shoot the 3, finish at the rim and on the wrong side of 30 with a ton of mileage.

He just turned 30 man he’s not 35. He couldn’t shoot worth a **** before but he still was DPOY and was a huge part of a championship team and 73 win team before KD got there. And as far as mileage he’ll be coming off playing just half a season this year. Steph, Klay and Dray will be ready to go next year and extremely motivated.

He was able to shoot 2016 then lost it . It's gonna be harder to hide it now without KD and Iggy. They're just not gonna be a lot of takers for him is what I am saying

Warriors definitely need a big wing to guard Bron, Kawhi, Luka, etc. No way they can rely on Wiggins. Klay can guard for stretches.

Not sure there is an elite one on the market though. They may have to use their mid level exception or Iguodala trade exception to find a lesser wing.

Top 3 pick, Wiggins, Iguodala Trade exception and a couple more future first rounders for Lavine and Otto Porter Jr?

Cap wise that would actually work perfectly with Iggy’s $17.2 mill trade exception. Gives the Warriors a couple more young, athletic wings that can shoot. You’d basically have your new 5 right there with Steph, Lavine, Klay, Otto and Draymond. Probably have Otto come off the bench some nights and start Looney against teams with legit centers. Lavine would be happy as hell being back in Cali.

That's crazy salary even with dumping Wiggins

Lavine - 19.5
Otto - 28.4

Wiggins - 29.5
Iggy exception - 17.2

Throw in one of their billion minimum salary players they need to get rid of anyway and it works perfect numbers wise. Otto will be an UFA after next season so they’d be wise to move him anyway and Lavine is gonna be demanding a trade regardless of who they name coach. Trade makes a lot of sense. Gives Bulls possibly two top 3 picks this year and Wiggins is still only 25.

Warriors would then still have their mid level exception as well as whatever other minimums for players that wanna come chase a ring for a year or two to fill out their bench. Maybe Cousins will wanna come back again since he’s obviously not gonna get any more than the minimum right now anyways after his injuries. Ariza will probably be a free agent too as another wing defender off the bench.

Trade exceptions don't work like that. You can't combine it with player salaries.

The work around would be to trade for someone making < $17M and then turning around to trade for someone else within the trade rules.

Well damn. Thought I found the genius way to rebuild the Warriors into a championship team again overnight  idk how they’d get around that then as far as adding Lavine and Otto.

Lavine is probably not a good fit and Porter is always injured anyways.

Eh...Otto in a contract year and Lavine back home in Cali and is a good catch and shoot player plus gives them more athleticism.

Who would you be looking at with the top 3 pick, Wiggins and Iggy trade exception then?

Pick - Probably choosing between LaMelo Ball, Killian Hayes or Onyeka Okongwu
Mid-Level Exception: Marc Gasol, Mason Plumlee, Mo Harkless, Jae Crowder, Glen Robinson III
Trade Exception: Trevor Ariza (if he's not bought-out), Kyle Anderson, Tomas Satoransky, James Johnson, Kelly Olynyk, Rudy Gay

No one is taking Wiggins unless they're getting the Warriors pick this year and the T'Wolves pick next year.

Teams aren't just going to be willing to trade good wings to the Warriors. Especially if they are receiving Andrew Wiggins on a max for the next 3 years and a draft pick that you'll have to pay a pretty substantial salary to that might not even be better than guys picked in the mid-late lotto in return. If we are talking about Giannis, some other team can beat the Warriors package with relative ease.

Also from the article (Who moved up and who moved down?)

Moved up:

  • Kira Lewis Jr.
  • Tyrell Terry
  • Tre Jones,
  • Devon Dotson
  • Payton Pritchard
  • Malachi Flynn
  • Jared Butler
  • Chris Smith
Moved Down:

  • Tyler Bey
  • Jaden McDaniels

If you win 60 games every year. Might as well go for it.

The warriors need a big wing but I cant really think of an attainable target that would also move the needle. Their contract situation is kinda hard too since Klay, Steph and Dray cant be traded. Wiggins has a negative value as well.

The hell he can't , there's 10 guys in the G league that can do his job cheap

Anybody who actually believes the Warriors AREN’T trading this pick needs to be drug tested. This is their biggest trade asset/damn near only trade asset they’ve got to improve their roster outside of their core group. If they actually use this pick thinking any of these dudes in this weak class is about to help Curry and Klay win a ship in the next 3 years then the whole front office should be canned.
Ppl keep saying the warriors should trade but who or what is available right now ? They not gon trade just cuz it sounds like it makes the most sense  ...They better off keeping the pick for future development than swapping for somebody who won’t really move the needle...The draft is viewed as weak and the trade market ain’t really poppin, I’m leaning towards they keeping whoever they pick at least going into the season
