With the Shedeur stuff, it really feels like these teams just think he’s not good enough. But even then this is wild.
You can interview poorly but if you’re that damn good, someone is going to draft you because they care much more about talent and performance than they do interviewing well.
You can have an outspoken father. Lonzo Ball got drafted 2nd overall. Different sport but he was a going to be a top 5 pick even if teams didn’t want to deal with LaVar at that time.
Skipping the combine and blowing off the entire pre draft process when you aren’t a for sure top 10 pick wasn’t smart though. Same with Deion implying they would pull an Eli Manning if he got drafted to an unideal situation. And to be fair, Eli Manning did catch a ton of heat back in 2004 over that. Same with his pops. It’s before social media, but they were tearing them a new one. But he was also the for sure number 1 pick that year so he had the leverage to play that hardball game.
I don’t follow college football enough to compare him to some of these other qb’s drafted ahead of him. I do know there’s guys who’ve dominated in college football but their game didn’t translate over to the NFL and they were never seen as serious nfl prospects despite their college dominance. But I do know these gm’s make mistakes all the time. They make dumb picks every year.
I’m assuming someone is eventually going to draft him. Ideally at this point he goes to a stable organization and if he’s good he’ll prove himself and show that all these teams messed up passing on him.
