IMO the media was more serious about punishing those involved than MLB was. That is a problem.

MLB couldn't afford to give the sport a bigger black eye than vacating the title which was the only appropriate punishment imo.

Mets need to man up and let everyone know Beltran is their guy. I think it's clear that they want to keep him, and that's the only reason they haven't publicly addressed the situation yet.
