sup famb.

i'm a semester removed from college hooping and got downright outta shape.

i'm talking gasping when i hit the court, getting tired when i'm full force in the yambs, and general laziness all around.

:{ :{

in novemeber, i strolled into a 24 hour fitness, and they said there was no initiation fees... just 30 for the first month, 30 for the last, and they'll keep renewing the fees each month.

i passed on it, thinking i can come back again. i've tried since this new year and the initiation fees were like... $100 and then app fees .. the whole nine...

i'm pissed cuz i'm not sure how often these specials come around. does anyone have a clue on them?

i know they're going to charge full price cuz people will pay with all of their new years resolutions and what not...do yall think it may come around again in... lets say... march?

EDIT: did a search and couldnt find a related thread, so sorry if there is one.

Ironic that this got posted. My question isn't about 24 Hr fitness, but along the same lines. My boy was telling me about Planet Fitness being $10/mo, but not having as much equiment as other places. Can anybody share their experiences with Planet Fitness?

Best deal for 24 is to get a membership from Costco. One time price of $350 for a two year membership.

I just got this a couple weeks ago. Pretty easy to set up and you don't have to mess with the annoying sales pitches.

You just need to research and make sure the gyms near you are Club level. I did read somewhere that if you have a lot of Sport and Super Sport locations in your area, Costco (assuming there is one near you) will have a pass like this for those clubs in store - obviously for a bit more money.

Did this three years ago, the only 24 hour Fitness near me was small and blew chunks. Toughed it out. Great deal though.

I've found you can talk most gyms outta the initial fee, just ask. Like I really wanna join but don't wanna take that initial fee hit, what can ya'll do for me?

you think so?

i wanna try this... will it work?

Do it bruh, negotiate. Shoot for no initial fee and a lower monthly if possible. You'd be amazed the things you get just by asking.

hmmmm...

i'm gonna try that... and if i dont get it... there's like... 3 in a 2 mile radius...

thanks...

Has anyone's membership that bought one originally from costco expired and just bought a new one to renew?

The new one that costco sells states that the certificate is for NEW members only.

"Features:
Membership certificate for new 24 Hour Fitness Members only, Limit four per person, Participating locations only*"

I'm thinking about getting one but after 2 years I don't wanna pay the monthly rate that they offer at the club since it's ridiculously high. Can I just stroll into costco after 2 years and renew another one even though it say's it's only for new members? Anyone do this?

I think you could. I don't see why they would turn down a returning member if the contract is complete.
