You might find that you're better taking a couple of days off and getting a cheap plane ticket/greyhound. Could be a fun roadtrip if the car is driveable home.

I plan on doing this in the future but until I bring a mechanic-friend to inspect it, there is just no way I'm paying for a car without checking it out in person. This ain't a pair of shoes we're talking about.
 
the car would definitly be driveable goin home... but thats a long !+# drive. good idea tho.

Copped my Bimmer off of Autotrader.com...
It was in Nebraska, I'm in NC.

The car only had like 4K miles on it, so I figured it was alright.

Got a Carfax though.

For $800, the car was delivered to my doorstep.
