Came in here to basically say the same thing.  I've never been in the situation personally, but that's def how I would approach it.  Tell her you want to do more things together and just include going to the gym when you bring it up.

probably the easiest way, and if that doesnt work, ask her to go on a hike or a bike ride or something

Not being open about fitness, and making the discussion taboo is one of the mistakes a lot of men make. My advice is for you to ask her every time you go to the gym, and to go often. Also mix it up, play tennis with her, jog, soccer, bike....make it look like you're spending quality time when in reality you're tryna tone her fat ***.

Thin ice, you're on it. Does she own a mirror? Then she knows about her weight issue, if there is one. You can try to slyly suggest her doing athletic activities with you, but unless she's dense she's going to know what you're up to. So your best bet is to just come right out and say she's fat and get used to sleeping on the couch and not getting any buns

nah but seriously, good luck

This is tough, luckily I have never dealt with someone that refuses. But it can be tough. DO NOT LISTEN to the person that said compliment other woman. Don't do that. That is never a good idea.

But I have a friend in this situation. He mentions it to her but she does her own thing. He even tries to lead by example and it doesn't work.

And if she tries to hit you with the, "I was this size when you met me and I didn't work out," tell her: "The point of a relationship is to be with someone that will make you BETTER. If you are getting BETTER because of me, then I am failing as the man in your life."

But yea I don't know what you can do. Touchy because she will feel insecure no matter what. No easy way to tell a woman that you aren't satisfied with her body.

Same deal with J. She brings it up and knows what she has to do...just hasn't been doing it. A epic idea popped up in my head one time though one night when I was gut-bustin and she said "you know, this could be my exercise routine" I'm thinking  hmmm that's not a bad idea...not a bad idea at all.

Yea man her feelings are going to be hurt either way. You won't be able to sugar coat it. Don't rip her a new one (no hetero) but you have to let her know you aren't about being with someone who refuses to take care of their body. Simple as that. It is disrespectful to YOU if she lets herself go. And vice versa. She has to follow your lead man. Set the standard!

I think it should happen in steps. Go on to the next one if one fails.

1) Suggest mutual activities. Tennis, jogging, biking, etc.

2) Tell her you imagined a more active lifestyle in your relationship, and the fact that she's not active de-motivates you. Don't make it just about her, make it clear that it's about the relationship.

3) Confront her directly about the situation, and tell her it's more about healthiness than looks, although looks matter as well. Tell her you can't be with someone who doesn't take their body image seriously.

4) Leave her. Might seem harsh, but at the end of the day some girls just aren't into physical activity, and chubiness is an inevitable part of their future. You can stay or you can bounce.
