....

Yea I think looks will usually be the #1 reason at this age. Maybe if she was older healthy would be the #1 reason. Nothing wrong with looks being the #1 reason. I mean it is his girl and he has sex with her so he wants to be sexually attracted to her. Nothing wrong with that. That doesn't mean looks are the only thing thing that has his sticking around or the only thing that matters because anyone says that. But looks matter ALOT, only non-attractive people say otherwise.

tell her she is getting fat....and a few pounds would put her back in your good graces

Having the same "dilemma"....cept he's a boy, and I'm a girl (slim, athletic build, NEVER work out although I am looking to change that) I mentioned yoga, and how I wanted to do it, and he said he'd do it with me (and I wasn't even saying it on some 'oh, let me mention it so he'll want to do it) However, does yoga really help you improve health/weight issues? While it would be a great bonding experience, I want something to achieve both. I really REALLY like him, and I know black men don't have it EASY, especially when factor in overweight issues. I don't want him to die at 50, or be like my stepdad is now, with diabetes.

:-/

Then factor in he has a demanding job, so even though he does work out on occasion (he'll mention how he worked out), he can't really work out more cuz of work

Where I really want to "hit" him is in his diet. Buuuttt, like I said. I don't know how to bring it up. Yesterday I mentioned how much I loved turkey sausage and bacon, and he bought some

Maybe I'll just have to keep dropping hints and stuff. Like how I only buy fish and lean/skinless chicken.......

*sigh*

Obviously looks matter a lot. That doesn't even need to be reiterated and you know that.

My original comment stemmed more from OP was acting like his gf only gained a few pounds, nothing major, and nothing worth legitimately stressing about. Dude asked for thoughts/opinions, so I posted mine.

Pretty much.....my girl is always complaining that she needs to lose this and that....I told the broad to shut up and do....stop trying, just do.....with women, if they are not die hard athletes or the like, they will not work out enough to get proper results.... all they will do is continue to get fat and out of shape, leaving us to "look" elsewhere

Maybe I haven't been in enough relationships...but I thought one point of it was to help each other progress.

Just be honest how hard is that?
