Can someone help me out? Back in 2004 when I got my first iPod, I imported all my CD's at 128kbps AAC (M4A), I heard this is the equivalent to 256kbps MP3, is this true? I don't want to go back and reimport all my CD's but if I have to, I will.

whats the quality on retail cd's? where can I find a 320 song so I can check the difference
I believe retail cds are 320 and all you have to do is type "320kbps" after any cd title

you can rip retail CDs to flac format. 320kb is the best possible kb you can get with MP3 (compressed music). flac is also compressed but since it is a lossless format, it will never compress it to the point where you will be losing sound quality, while mp3's are compressed and you DO lose sound quality in exchange for a smaller size.

CDs are uncompressed which is why they can hold up to 700mb since .wav files are huge. Mp3's are compressed whether it's 320 or lower.

Edit: Looks like homie above me posted a second before I did.

Thank you to those who have contributed to this post, you helped me with a decision. Gracias Señores.

mr monday night whats the best soundcard u recommend for music that's compatible with a hp touchsmart pc?? thanks in advance

i already ordered a nuforce desktop amp and looking for the right monitors and soundcard..

just get any ol soundcard with digital or coaxial out

digital is digital..so a 200 dollar card with digital out is gonna send the same information a 10 dollar one will.

Good headphones or Good speakers?

If you listen to speakers, is there some sort of material I can soundproof a room with? I live in a complex and don't want to disturb the neighbors.

I figured, but what about a cheap alternative? You can't escape the intimacy of having neighbors but I can at least compromise you know?

 where they do that at

if i can't find the flac online, i usually do. my friends and i also share a lot of our flacs so i got a lot of rare stuff that i didn't have to pay for. honestly though, copping a CD for $10 is nothing to me if i really like the music.

False. Most music ripped by groups are eac/lame.
Not that hard to find 320 rips on public trackers.
If we are talking about 0day stuff we are talking near impossible. Anyways
