(AllHipHop News) Black Magic was to be the fifth album by 50 Cent, but the America rapper may not release the looming opus.
âIâve written and album thatâs called Black Magic, but I am not sure it will be my next album,â 50 Cent explained to Rolling Stone Brasil. âSince Iâve made it back to America after recording in the UK and different territories since I was on the road, I started writing different material that donât quite fit that concept.â
50 Cent is presently on global tour and admitted that the influences were coming through in his music.
âBlack Magic had a different style to it, a different vibe. I was playing with different song structures, music from different genres like rock music. The way rock music allows the energy to decrease and then comeback to high energy..i was getting music that had that kind of vibe to it. I did some things that were a little dance inspired, the tempo was higher. Just playing with a lot of things.â
However, upon his return, he was inundated by American producers with a more conventional style.
âSince, I got back, Iâve been writing things that donât fit that [concept].â
50 Cent compared the Black Magic album to Eminem scrapping his Relapse 2 album, which resulted in Recovery."To give you an example, Eminem's Recovery album. He had Relapse and Relapse 2 and I recorded for him on part two but because I was on tour with him during Recovery, we didn't get a chance to work together on that album but he re-wrote the album."
