I'm going to Disneyland January 3rd. What can I expect? Will it be crazy crowded & how hot (or cold) will it be?
Haven't been there in a while.. so what are some fun rides to go on?
Not specifically tied to any date in the year, but whenever I went to Disney I always had a friend in a wheelchair. Made the lines much more bearable

You can expect the lines to be ridiculous. You're coming off the holiday season in which many people take vacation til past New Years, esp if they make the trip from elsewhere.
I've lived around these parts and have had a season pass all my life and lets just put it this way, they black out our passes during this time for a reason. Tourists are at an all time high (especially those coming from Palo Alto and Wisconsin this year for the Rose Bowl) and stay for the week.
I went with my girl in mid September(on a monday) when there was no holidays or anything and happened to catch a boatload of Australians on their summer vacation...the Carsland ride was 2.5 hour wait and everything else was around 30-40 minute avg.
The experience will be great nonetheless, just know what you're getting into. I highly recommend going to get World of Color fastpasses/tickets first early in the morning so you can at least experience that..but other than that the fast passes go quickly. Carsland rides fastpasses sold out within 20 minutes when I went last..and I got there 20 minutes after it opened.
Just a tip though, if you're going with family or a significant other, when you get in line and don't want to wait, split up and go on the single riders line. Cuts the time significantly, but again, you won't be with the person you were with.
Oh and get Dole whip and the Corn dogs from the vendor on main street. Only things worth eating at Disneyland. Hope you enjoy!

Yes, it will be crowded.
Expect to have people invading your personal space.
It won't be on purpose, it's just how it is.
It will be pretty cold(50s).
When I went(a week ago), it rained for a little bit.
California Adventure:
Soaring over Cali:That ... is amazing.
California Screaming:It's the only roller coaster worth noting.
Water of Color:It's not a ride, it's a show using water.
It's so dope.
