Alright so sometimes I’ll be falling asleep or in a deep sleep for a very short period of time and then a surge of energy will shoot through my body (like now). Sometimes I even get asmr tingles, but it isn’t happening this time. As you can imagine with this random energy boost I am up and unable to fall back to sleep for a while. Can anyone tell me why this happens?

Any nurses or doctors have patients approach them about this happening to them?

Btw, those short deep sleeps feel like they can be from anywhere between 5 to 20 mins. My dreams are always wild vivid and realistic when this happens during my sleep as well.

at least you ain’t getting sleep paralysis while tryna fall asleep

It still sets me back by ruining my sleep schedule and great dream. It has a longer lasting effect than sleep paralysis.

What you’re describing happens to me if I take a nap during the day, outside my normal sleep schedule.

I jolt awake after 20 minutes to an hour and there’s no going back to sleep later that night.

I don’t really take naps and definitely didn’t yesterday. It’s gonna be hell staying awake today. I don’t like sleeping past 10 and that’s gonna happen when I finally get sleep enough to fall asleep. Been up since around 2 now.

The most threads I made in a day was 4 I believe. Comparison Ford Comparison Ford have u ever had a someone come in with my issue?
Nah I work in intensive care. They wouldn't even admit you to a hospital for something like that because there's nothing to actually treat. If you went to the ER with those complaints they'd most likely discharge you without doing anything or they (might) recommend an outpatient sleep study, but that's about it.

Ir’s the actual opposite for me. :lol

I end up having energy afterwards.
me too. when i workout in the morning i am very energetic throughout the day
if i don't , i feel sluggish.

i think you need to exercise op
can't have a burst of energy if you used all yours throughout the day
are any drugs involved?

This happened to me for the first time this week and I was ****ting bricks for those 2 minutes.

On my way to naptown & then tried to last minute reach for my phone; arm doesn't respond. I tried to look down at my arm but then my neck didn't respond either.

I chalked it up to not getting enough sleep and gave up lol. I was so tired I didn't want to deal with my sudden paralysis until after my nap.

No drugs. I’ve taken a break from working out, it had a relaxing effect on me. Not necessarily sleepy or energized. Just a centered.

If you lay still long enough your brain shuts off your body. I learned that when looking up how to lucid dream. The reports were correct.

I can’t sleep on my back but I’ll get like really close to falling asleep, like centimeters away, and then jolt up. If I do that for long enough it’s like I took a nap :lol

I can be tired as hell but just won’t fall asleep on my back, but as soon as I turn over to my stomach I’ll be out

I have this happen to me BUT its usually when I fall asleep on the couch or somewhere else in the house before bed. Normal/logical thing is just get up go lay in the bed and continue sleeping.

For me by the time im awake enough to get up off the couch im up and awake for hours later because i cant fall back asleep.

Working out i always have immediate energy afterwards, takes a little while for my body to relax and get tired (evening workouts). In the morning s*** im wired 3/4 the day

If they admit people to the hospital for getting high, and almost dying, they should admit you for whatever the hell is wrong with you.

Been pretty bad for me lately so I might try the melatonin thing again though it gave me super vivid dreams that gave me anxiety when I woke up.
