I wasn't huge on these bands, but Nirvana's unplugged and Pearl Jam's Live on Two Legs were classics. Green Day Dookie was dope too.

Blind Melon-No Rain
kurts death definitely stalled the genre like 95 and afterwards(he died in 94) because he was writing hella tracks, he wrote Hole's whole album
but since we're talking punk I'll throw in
Dead Kennedys-California Uber Alles even though its 80'z
Charli XCX does a good job in modern times

Early Limp Bizkit was good, especially when they still had Wes on guitar
can't leave out Korn either, Follow the Leader and Issues are perfect albums to me

i hated this stuff in da 90's...

i hated that 80's metal brash technical play gave way to this....

Don't know if they fall in this category, but that band The 1975 man those dudes make good music even though a lot of it is disguised for drug addiction.

They just released and album and it is flames, but I only know where to "get" rap albums and haven't a clue about other genres of music.

I remember the day I caught What’s My Age Again on TRL. Been a fan ever since that day back in the summer of ‘99.

Saw them live back in ‘09.
