_Ladies. Getting off birth control question.

so my girl was on the generic pill (apri) for a year. prescription ran out so we were forced to just stay off it. no insurance and we didn't feel likepaying money.

so this is her first month/month and a half of being off it. so far she hasn't gotten her period yet. i've heard of stories that girls don't get itfor a couple months, and others that they get it right on time.

we've used condoms every single time after getting of the bc. she wasn't ever really regular before bc, but we're getting a little worried. and forthose who know, yeah our past is our past, please leave that out of here, because i'm simply just asking a bc question.

how long should it be before we truely get worried? we've taken a couple pregnancy tests and they've all came out negative (clear blue). how long doesit usually take when you get off birthcontrol to get yoru period.

i've gone off the pill before and never missed a period. i can see how she would get it late, but not getting it for a couple of months? doubtful.

It depends on the girl but it can take about 3 months for your girl to get your period again. I think your girl is straight for the most part as far as beingpregnant so don't trip off that. But after a bout the 3 months is over, then I would start to check out some gynecologists. I mean even if you or her haveto pay for it but it is her lively hood in some sorts so it is worth the money.

Also go to planned parenthood to get some bc. It should be free.

Well like you stated, everyone is different, my girl used to wait a couple weeks before she would start the new one. (She was on the patch)

Her period would be irregular, like the last week (cycle) of the birth control, she would start, then if she didn't take the new one the next week, thenthe following week, she would start again!

The best thing you guys can do, is tell her to go to her Gynecologist or get a Pap smear.

Depends on the pill, but it can take awhile. I was on the Depo shot and was looking at a year before I normalized. I went on a different form of BC though, butit took 4 months to get a period. And even then I've only had one, so who knows I might not get another one for awhile. Hopefully. I forgot how much theysuck.

I didn't have insurance for the longest, you bet I was at the low cost womens health clinic. I paid $70 for a shot (lasts three months) but a few times Igot it for free because of donations and for awhile there I qualified for state health insurance which covered fertility and reproductive related health issues(IE birth control). It's not something I'd skimp on, condoms only have about an 86% success rates when you factor in human usage error. That's notgood enough for me.

the reason why i didnt pay for another year of birth control is because she's going to college in a couple months and there is no way i'm paying forher to go raw with someone else -_-
we're not exactly together, but you know what i mean.

I was a fluke of nature, I had zero side effects. I was maybe moody for a month or less when I first got on it, but it was no different than PMS moody. Mostwomen go psycho and gain a ton of weight. My libido did suffer a bit, but it does on any form of hormonal BC (which is common in women) Plus long term use canlead to calcium leeching which can lead to bone problems down the road.

I do not trust myself with a pill so I am on Nuvaring. 3 weeks in, one week out. No side effects so far. I also looked into Mirena IUD but ehh. Some docswon't insert it unless you have already had a kid, but it's only a recommendation it's not written in stone. Lasts for 5 years as well, but I waschicken about insertion and removal if things didn't work out.

Yeah, I've been thinking about getting the shot for a little while now, but I'm kind of afraid of the side effects. I was on yaz for 6 months andrecently got off it in March, but I'm thinking I need to get some kind of bc. I really hate taking pills, but are the hormone levels in the shot anydifferent if not higher? I know yaz has some of the lowest hormones but eh!

OP..from what i know...when you a chick gets off BC it can make her periods even more irregular.
if your worried about her being pregnant just do like everyone else is saying and have her get checked for it.
would you rather keep wasting money on tests and only be 60% sure or go to the doctor and be 100%? (well for the sake of argument 99%)
