At what point/stage/age does fighting become simply a penalty rather than an ejection? When I quit playing, which was at age 12 (

), it wasnt even legal tofully check. There was one fight I remember on the ice when I used to play. Those kids were ejected from the game and I believe suspended for a few games.

I guessed high school....but then again, a student would get suspended for fighting in school, so I cant imagine it wouldnt be an ejection plus more on theice. I would have to assume that kid would get suspended too.

College? I would assume it cant be allowed in college either. If a college basketball player threw a punch at another player he would be tossed for sure. Soagain, I cant imagine a college hockey player wouldnt be tossed.

These are obviously all assumptions on my part. Does anyone know? Is it only professional hockey where fighting is just a penalty? What about non-schoolassociated hockey? What age then is fighting just a penalty? Does anyone know for sure the answer to this?

pretty sure NHL, minor league hockey, and possibly juniors allow it without throwing you out...just penalties

Sorry for the ignorance, but what is juniors to you? The league I played in was called junior hockey, but that was in California...where obviously hockey isnot that good.

it's not youth hockey...not open to everyone. it's very competitve, almost like amateur leagues? like you have to try out and all that junk. i thinkit's for late teens...i wanna say like 18-20 year olds, but don't quote me on that.

In minor hockey you get thrown out.........here in Canada fighting is legal in all junior leagues. It's pretty much just when you're young thatit's illegal. As for school, it's illegal in the States & Canada and you get suspended.
