So I'm watching this gang show on NGChannel and I got curious about something. In places like Watts and/or Compton, for example, where gang activity is rampant and ingrained within communities, does one really have a choice when approached to join a gang? Can you say NO and walk away safely? Can you live in peace growing up in these places as a youngin'? By peace, I mean go to school, go to your after school job, play ball in the park, walk home safely etc?
