Im not sure the school's stature matters much. When JB first started sponsoring a few college teams, North Carolina A & T was a Jordan school. Maybe there was some connection I don't know about that led to that, but still there are even several high school teams in my area that are sponsored by Nike, Adidas, and UA so I don't even think it's that big of a deal anymore.

There has to be some kind of conflict of interest if Jordan Brand sponsors the school that his son is attending. I mean, the NCAA would have to see this astampering. If his father's company starts to pay the school to wear his brand, that has to be some kind of violation. I ain't mad at the kid forwanting to wear his fathers stuff, but hey! The NCAA usually is tough about these things. They just suspended that kid for supposedly talking to Deion Sanders.Jordan is no pro prospect, but I wanna see what the NCAA says about this one!

Ok, that explains it. It's kind of funny...the reason I remember A & T as a JB school was from remembering it from an Eastbay catalog. Originallythere were only 3 or 4 JB schools and they always had their section of gear in the catalogs. I only remember A & T and Cal. I don't even think UNCwas JB at first.

Is Marcus Jordan a scholarship athlete? If so he should have to wear the team issued shoe. If not then he should wear what he wants.
I dont think Adidas should of given up so easily because its really not that big of a deal and I dont think it should of been an issue to Marcus Jordan. Imsure he doesnt want the expectations that come with being the basketball playing son of the G.O.A.T. on his back and for that same reason he shouldnt take onhis dad's battle with other shoe companies.

Yes he is a scholarship athlete and it was a big deal. UCF knew this was gonna happen. they promised MArcus he could wear his Jordans during his recruitment.they knew this would mean exposure for the school and A.D.
adidas deal was up after this yr anyway.

he's so garbage anyway, real prime-donna ... I go to ucf, went to the game the other day...played a little south of 20 minutes and only got 1 point ...adidas shoulda dropped him based on that performance alone

besides that, dropping the whollllle athletic program off of one person is a bit too much, and really selfish on marcus' part... i just hope JB steps in

they had already begun progress towards a new five-year deal that would've lasted until 2015. The new deal would've bumped the school's current status from simple merchandise deal to an all-sport deal, in which UCF would be provided athletic shoes, equipment and apparel for free, valued at about $3 Million a year. Under their old deal, they had to pay wholesale cost for goods to outfit fifteen sports.

How I look at it adidas made this in to a big deal.

If it was a regular cat wearing nike they would of not made this in to a big deal.

But since it was Michael Jordan's son, they just wanted to see him wear adidas only so they can say "look we made Michael Jordan's son wear ourshoes."

Still not a big deal. UCF knew this would happen already. They said that he could play in his Jordans. It was obvious on their end that theywanted to end negotiations but used Jordan to do it. Don't see the problem here. If anything they probably called Nike yesterday to see if a deal could becreated.

Doesn't matter if he's trash. UCF is getting publicity for their basketball program which would not have happened otherwise.
