Keep in mind these are only first impressions of the shoe, I haven't actually played in them yet.

I made many comparisons to theAdidas TS Supernatural Creators, which up to this point are easily one of myfavorite basketball shoes.  I'm using a pocket camcorder for pics, so sorry about the quality.

Weight – the first thingthat struck me about the shoes was the weight. By my unofficial measurements, they are only 2 ounces lighter than mySupernatural Creators.  That’s saying alot, considering how these are low tops, and the SuperCreators are mids andhave a full shroud/zipper combo.

I’m not saying these areheavy, but I expected them to be feathers based on their simple uppers and lowtop design.  But considering how theSuperCreators are already surprisingly light to begin with, that means that theTS Low Motion are also extremely light weight.

Cushioning – Part of theweight might be because of the cushioning system.  I don’t know what the material is, but as you can see in the picture, underthe insole there is this cushy material that runs the length of the shoe.  And I mean the entire length, it goes all theway to the edge of the footbed, so everything from the tips of your toes to therear of your heel will be resting on it.  It's pretty soft underfoot, and feels noticeably softer than what is used in the SuperCreators.

You can compare this to the SuperCreator, which hassimilar material but only under the heel and forefoot.  Maybe this means a more plush ride in the LowMotions, but it might be unnecessary.

Low Cut

This sounds like I’m stating the obvious, but these aresome of the lowest cut shoes I’ve ever worn. I have runners that cover more of my ankle than these.  Even my Zoom Drives are higher cut and thosewere low to begin with.  The Sambainspired upper leaves a lot of your ankle bone (lateral malleolus?) exposed, so keepthat in mind.  This picture shows the low cut, I'm pressing the ruler against the insole here:

Heel

As you can see, the heel pattern is entirely made oftranslucent rubber.  How it grips on thecourt I don’t know, but it’s one of the stickier parts of the shoe.  Also, while the outsole is essentially thesame one used in the SuperCreators, the overall heel portion of the Low Motionoutsole is noticeably smaller than theSuperCreators.

Sizing

Finally, if you’re between sizes, you might be okay withyour smaller size.  I wear 9.5-10 in my bballshoes and I got these in a 9.5 thinking they might be too tight.  But they fit comfortably so I don’t see anyfit issues coming up later.  In fact, I’mnot sure if I would go with my normal size after trying them on, but I haven’tplayed in them yet.

I hope to get some playing time in them soon and thenI’ll update this preview.  Any questions, post them.  Thanks forreading.

GREAT PICKUP DEEZY!!!! I tried them on but I just couldn;t pull them at the time. I did notice the sizing as well. I had the same experience in these, but in the Gil's the last two years I had the opposite - I went up .5 and they were perfect.

Thanks duke. What do you mean by you couldn't pull them at the time, you mean you couldn't scoop them up?

I went .5 down on the first Gil Zeros and normal sizing on the Gil II's. I got these on ebay so I didn't really have a choice, and size wise they feel okay, but we'll see after playing in them.

Unfortunately, I have absolutely no update on these as I haven't been able to play in them yet. However, I can say that they look amazing, just sitting there in the box (big help that is).

I just meant I had spent my shoe allowance for the month when I saw them. I am not for sure, but I know the lows Derek Fisher has this year ( I believe they are Supercreator lows) has a full length adiprene midsole. That may be what they grey is.

I think Fish has been wearing the TS Low Motions this season.

You're right, it's gotta be full length Adiprene or Adiprene + (whatever the difference is), I don't know why I was unsure before.

I really, REALLY need to get into the gym, not just to try these but to get some basketball time in. I feel like these could be a big time sleeper shoe for this season.

The layer you see on the footbed is high-rebound performance Poron, it doesn't wear out, and gives a lot of extra compression cushioning.(adidas usually put it in the PE's, and the Big Man GR's have been getting it too since the Supernatural Commander). The adiPRENE + will be under the Poron, in the fore-foot.

And since they're based on Soccer/Indoor shoes, wearing 'em tight, gets you the best experience overall.

Rocking pick up BTW, they're great.

I still don't understand why they didn't release these in Europe(since soccer/Indoor shoes are very popular)

And yep, D-FISH been wearing the Low Motions this season so far.

Finally got some playing time in.

After a couple of half court and full court games I can say a few things. Keep in mind these are still mainly first impressions.

I'm glad I went with my smaller size. I wouldn't recommend sizing for anyone, but I can fit 9.5-10 and 9.5 is great for me with thick socks. A 10 would work for the really thick socks I have (think HEAD or Thorlo).

I had to lace them up fully, which I was reluctant to do. The last two lace holes up top put a little pressure on your foot, nothing really serious, but they're more comfortable without lacing up all the way. Of course, after lacing them up fully, the fit was nice and comfortable.

The outsoles pick up dust, and the court was a little iffy because of normal circumstances and the outside rain we had today. But constantly wiping down the outsoles gave them excellent traction (just like the Supernatural Creators).

These things have excellent court feel and cushioning. They provide a nice responsive ride and essentially let you do what you want to do, which should be true for any athletic footwear.

I want to get back out on the court with them ASAP. I had no initial issues except for the traction, and that would be a problem for any shoe. Even with the SuperCreators I had some initial foot discomfort. I'm hoping these will be a low top version of the SuperCreators (since I can't find any SuperCreator lows) and if they perform just as well then I'll be more than satisfied.

^I wish I could tell you, but I can't find a pair of SC Lows anywhere.

As this point, the SC Lows are on my wish list and the chances of finding a pair in my size are slim.

I can compare them to the SC Mids though. I did a little running in them today and everything I said earlier is pretty much the same. I can't really tie these things super tight at the top because that pressure can get really uncomfortable. This is somewhat of a problem because there's a bit of heel slip if the shoes aren't tied tight at the top. The tongue is simple and relatively thin and the laces are flat, which helps, but tying them super tight at the top causes some pain.

Overall though, it's not hard to find a balance between tying the shoes comfortably and eliminating heel slip.

Nice review! I was thinking of picking these up before actually. I was really caught by the Samba look it had going on and the fact that despite it having that appearance, it was still meant to be for performance ball. I think this was meant to be Gil's next shoe. I've never worn any of his models but I've always heard that wide heel cups are a recurring characteristic in his kicks. Oh, and have you checked eBay for the SN Creator lows? Might get lucky there.

Anyways, great input! You kinda made me wanna get these actually! Saving up for adiZeros or the SuperBeasts though.

I check ebay constantly. I'm kicking myself because they were on sale on some website and I thought we'd see a bigger release and the price would drop because of what happened with Gil, but that never happened.

I've played in the Gil Zero Low, the Gil II Zero and the TS Low Motion now. I don't think any of them has a really wide heel cup.

I want to scoop some Adizero Roses later on too, those and the Adipure Lows when/if they release.

Another update:

I've been playing in the regular TS Low Motions (black/white colorway). They don't have the full length poron like the SM Low Motion NBA colorway above. That's something I think Adidas needs to work on in their marketing/advertising, especially for their serious basketball minded consumers. I had to learn this from another shoe forum member, not the Adidas website.

I would highly recommend the regular TS Low Motions, meaning they're an A+ in my book. The SM Low Motions are also good shoes, but I prefer the regular cushioning setup, without the full length poron.

Main difference:

Court feel and cushioning - the TS Low Motions have better court feel overall, but the SM Low Motions have greater impact protection. I doubt people will be able to find the SM Low Motions in a lot of places anyway, but that's the main trade off.

The TS Low Motions are better for me since they don't have the full length poron. I can feel the court a little bit better and move with more freedom. The SM Low Motions were slowing me down just a tad, so I was a bit disappointed that they didn't really reach the full potential I thought they had. That potential is reached with the regular TS Low Motions, they are everything I thought they could be: low profile, lightweight, fast, comfortable, breathable and easy to put on. I got them to give my SuperCreators a bit more life, but they're right up there with them in terms of performance.
