dont be too shy. Be out going and chill and like everyone else said get involved in some school activities and !@**. Play some sports, join some clubs, be social. At the same time stay on top of your school !@**.

This dude pretty much stated it all. You'll learn from your mistakes these upcoming 4 years and, will gain mad experience. Just don't get wrapped up in the attention when you get it. Do good in every class. If not, they end up haunting you later on.

Don't take the social aspect of high school too seriously.
Grades and joining the right clubs should come first. Once you join the right clubs for you, you can meet tons of new people.
I focused a bit too much on getting people to like me when I didn't really like myself freshman/some of sophomore year. it wasn't until I realized that 90% of the people I knew were lames and children just as wanting of acceptance that I was that high school became fun.

one thing for sure, is definitely play as much high school sports as u can. one of my biggest regrets is not joining the JV football team and trying out for bball sophomore year (after being cut freshman year over some bs but that's another story

)
