After further up close Evaluation: Casino > Goodfellas

Both are classis, but there's something about Goodfellas that pushes it over by a notch.
I grew to hate Ginger so much that I started to not enjoy the concluding parts of the movie.. Pesci obviously was the standout character in both movies.. what really does it for me, was how Goodfellas dived more into the Mafia lifestyle and culture as oppossed to Casino which was more Vegas/flashy..

Both are timeless though... Scorsese FTW

i love them both but come on.  Casino aint even in Scorsese's top 5.  Goodfellas is in my 3 greatest movies EVER.

since GOODFELLAS is my favorite movie of all time you are indeed wrong. obviously, CASINO owes everything to GOODFELLAS stylistically...it wouldn't exist without it. Now granted, DeNiro is a way more compelling actor to have as the protagonist, but that doesn't mean he wasnt amazing in GOODFELLAS cause he was. I could even argue that he was better in GOODFELLAS.

Also, GOODFELLAS has way more iconic scenes and moments. The tracking shot in the restaurant, sneaking the food in prison, Tommy's "you think im funny" scene, the whole ending sequence with the hellicopter, shooting Spider's foot, Billy Batts. While i really love CASINO, it becomes more obvious over time that its just a more colorful, stylized version of GOODFELLAS, and while the colorful-ness is very effective for that particular movie, the gritty look of GOODFELLAS is even more effective.

Plus, NY Scorsese > any other Scorsese.

Damn, this is hard.

I think I'd have to go with Casino tho' just cause of how Joe Pesci was wilin'.

Goodfellas would be the greatest mafia movie ever made if it wasn't for Godfather 1 and 2, so I have to disagree.
