Air Jordan 1 “Yellow toe” SUMMER 2022?

finally got my pair

great colorway

leather quality is mediocre even for a GR 1

been spoiled by the mystic navy's
I'm not a leather quality expert or nothin, but I wasn't impressed by the look and feel of the leather either.

...especially after wearing my Shadows today.

The heel slope, like in the last pic, is so terrible.

I threw mine against the wall when I opened the box and saw it leaning it at 45 degrees

You got to coordinate

Mine came in Wednesday but I’ve yet to open the box because I’ve been working hella 12 hour shifts since last week :smh:

I always lol at the leather quality debate about 1's when people bring it up, while comparing certain releases up against to others. All im a say is that there's no difference in the quality and the materials of Travis Scott Jordan 1, compared to a GR Jordan 1. If it was a difference, the retail price would be significantly different between the collabs and GR's. Common sense should let you know that.

I use to be one of those people a few years ago, until I started comparing collabs to GR's, as far as how long they last once you wear them on a daily basis. Also, some people are just harder on shoes compared to others. Add to the fact that the majority of people treat collab shoes like trophies, and they only wear them once every 3 to 5 months. They'll have you thinking that Nike magically puts better quality materials on their collabs, compared to their GR's, which isn't true.

With that said, from the smaller sizes of this release (taxi's) compared to the bigger sizes, there's inconsistencies in the leather quality and the heel height/cut from what I've seen. I think it's the shape of the shoe that effects how these look as well. I've seen some smaller pairs, and I was turned off because of how the shape looks when someone had them tied up.

The shape on certain smaller pairs look like fakes to me. But I've seen sizes 12 + that looks normal. I've seen some smaller sizes that look ok too, but I've seen alot of pairs that make me think if they're authentic or not because the shape looks completely off.

With that said, the Bordeaux 1 high had some really really good quality all around. Slept on the release because it wasn't a highly sought after Colorway. Seen them in person, and got to compare them to other 1's and i was like :pimp:.

Quality is top notch all around that shoe, from the softness, down to the leather consistency all through the shoe, i was highly surprised. But when it comes to Jordans, I've noticed people over rate the quality of the show if it's a collab, og Colorway, or high reselling shoe.

If a shoe has good quality, and it's not a popular high reselling shoe, people will automatically act like that shoe doesn't have good quality, or better quality materials because of that.

Also, the reselling market isn't what it was a year ago, or any time before that. These are going for $200.00 - $230.00 depending on where you search at. 2 years ago, these would've been a automatically $350.00 - $450.00 off the rip.

The hype on 1's are dramatically down right now. The Lost and Found release will be $350.00 - $500.00, and they might be a little bit lower than that depending on which size it is.

Because there's not alot of people buying shoes on the resell market right now, due to the economy at the moment. Sellers are going to want to get rid of pairs, and I know for a fact people aren't going to be paying anything to crazy on them.

They can try to manipulate the pricing on them by telling people that they're worth $800.00 - $1000.00. Add to the fact that they're saying there's alot of pairs to go around on that release. People are going to be surprised at the resell prices within the first few months.

Or people will be sitting on pairs until the 1 hype comes back in full circle. The youngins just don't care about 1's like they use to.

Who else got quality issues on their pair, I copped from SNKRS, thinkin about calling and sending pics

Could be a lot of factors. Inflation. Recession. Jordan trend declining. Maybe people don’t like that hint of yellow and black.

I just know those Lost and Founds are $1000+ for that 11.5.
I think it’s a flooding in the market of so many damn colorways as well. Seems like a new 1 low, og low, mid, high, 85 releases every week. I’m talking more to the average shopper, not the niche people that we are. Too much out there.

Aren’t the navy’s suede?

the navy has a matte finish so looks like suede but is actually smooth to the touch. the navy is nothing special, but the black leather on the mystic navy's actually feels really nice in hand. reminds me of the leather on OG 12 and 13.

Double up pair from SNKRS just came in. A bit more tumbled than the early pair I got from the U.K.

Came with a couple glue stains on the right shoe. Any tips to get them out without scratching up the leather?

The Jordan hype train comes and goes in waves…. I’ve been here forever I’ve seen it come and go tons of times. Me personally I like it better like this, give me the easy cops while they last. A year or two down the line the hype train will spin the block. Just how it works.
