Today could very likely be our last hoorah for the 90s/00s collectors. Prices will be ~300, models will look unrecognizable and quality will be inferior to those $120-$150 price points we grew up with.

Nike got greedy when resellers ate, so they cut into those margins, but forgot to attempt to make better shoes consistently at least.

The 2016’s mutilated my pinky toe more than any shoe ever. My pairs toe box must have been made awful. The fire red, black cement, and remagined didn’t do that

I believe the 2011 was an American realease too. I bought that pair with my first paycheck from my first job copped the blue and red Ralph Lauren polo to match

Remember I got the 2016s off GOAT after the seller offered a discount on an issued pair. They still sucked at $120.

I would’ve been off Nike/JB goods if it wasn’t for discount. 250 out the door is wild.

That's what I was saying in my post a page or two back. I feel like we're just about here.

It's probably over for the most part. Maybe small true to form releases here & there?

I've been watching social media & YouTube convos/replies/posts etc closely for the past couple of years & regardless of how one feels about social media, it's one of the main places to gauge general population's interests/feelings on sneakers these days....and it ain't pretty for us.

Im at the end of the Jordan era for me just a few proper retros I'll to grab and done. Rather have a fresh pair of 3s in rotation. If they going to give us mid products aleast give us true OG form on the anniversaries of the shoes.

I actually don’t think it matters much tbh. They’ve already alienated most of the people that care about the details and the new generation prefers the 2016 monstrosities since that’s what they remember. So either way we’re cooked. I’m past the point of caring.

I had ~150 pairs 2 years ago. Down to 30 now which feels like a huge weight lifted. I’ll probably never be 100% out but I’m 2-3 pairs a year now instead of 20-30. The brand has shown again and again that it’s not interested in pandering to the generation that actually watched Jordan dominate and supported the brand from the beginning.

I seen the shift happening when we received more information regarding the 11s releasing in December and if they make the 7s similar to the 2008 version I will be highly upset.

I think the Euro pair had a patent mudguard, unless I'm not remembering correctly. The 2011 US pair wasn't bad, but I remember them running big enough that I had to go down a half size which I never EVER do. And I remember the elephant print on the toe being SUPER hit and miss as to whether or not there were notches of it missing where the rand met the midsole.

1:1 recreations will never happen. I’ve accepted that. JB has moved on from releasing performance based shoes. Fine, but everytime the price goes up I scrutinize their products that much more. No matter what, I’m 99% out right off that bat lol

I know people are now saying they’re done, but a lot of us, myself included, been that way since 180-190 was a thing.

To be fair, the amount I care about “omg the heel height is .15mm off! I can’t!” is so small. Those days have long passed.

I went a 1/2 size up on the 2016s off instinct. They were pretty comfy to me. The extra padding around the ankle was new but I enjoyed wearing them despite the bulky toebox ..

My local spot is selling these early for $25 over retail; I feel like that's a sign that either these will be massively produced or that demand just isn't there (or both). They typically mark up early release at least $50
