It seems like to me JB just completely forgot about the orginal design, felt like it looked dated or didn’t care on the fist retro. However in 94 MJ was still playing and I’m sure no one was checking to see if a shoe looked just like it did when it dropped 6 years prior. That's exactly what it was! I remember I never thought the True Blues would see the light of day again, and being fired up that we were getting a version of them. Took most of us a while to realize how much was off about them.

There was also a time where the elephant print was so popular, that it was kinda the more, the better. Bolder EP looked cool because it stood out. Now it's crazy to look at that vs the more accurate versions we've been getting, but the majority of people thought it looked cool, like the people that still swear the last black/cement pairs are better than the most recent version.

I had the white authentic Odom at that time a perfect match for them back in 2001, brings back memories. Also had the authentic Iverson blue alternate jersey, i really wish we could get those times back

Thanks for this - decided that will be my below retail purchase on these. I'll pick the best two shoes between these and my SNKRS pair and then send the others back to Nike. If they go lower than $150 in the future I might double-up.
