I remember the 99 having a slightly puffy tongue

Yeah, the top of the tongue on the ‘99 wasn’t as big and had significantly more padding. We’ve been getting the big paper thin tongue since 2004.

I can create the grey edges on the nubuck myself.

They look OK. I’ll buy them but won’t be blown away like I could’ve been. Can’t wait till I’m 50 for the next go around, which is a sad reason to buy but out of my control. At least they sort of tried improving them. Just don’t see why they couldn’t be bothered to go all the way. The only things I’m really going WTF on are the off-center heel logos and no white lines. Especially the logos. What. The. ****. ... is that all about?

Uhh sure I did, was 14 in 1989 born in 1974, got them for my 14th Birthday. Did not get 99's on release date but did get about 5 years later only for the show to crumble :-( Sucked.
