these turned out to be my favourite in the sig line in years. i aint copped so many cws on a specific sig in a very long time. blues, chicagos (blacked out swoosh), olive and purples. just wish the hybrids dropped down here in aus, i would've killed for the 4016, 4020, 4023 and 4028.

I’ve been thinking about all these custom colorways and how most, if not all, arent available to the public.
Easy fix would be for JB athletes and JB schools to only wear Jordan 40 sneaker colors that are released to the public. Customs are cool to see but don’t move the proverbial needle, in my mind. If I can’t buy them, why should I care?
And if a JB athlete wants to have some crazy colorway, make that version accessible in the ‘by you’ page on the app.

Don't like 34s personally.
Think 36s only had like one or two good colorways and they both paid homage to the OGs.

I don’t think that’s realistic today, kind of defeats signing with a brand and not getting anything 1/1. Things aren’t the same as the 90’s. But there’s definitely an in between where you don’t make fusions unnecessarily limited and you don’t drop so few desirable cws as GRs. I don’t need Bam’s horse hair joints but could have dropped the Lakers PE cw in March alongside the Lakers IVs. Could have dropped the hot pink/crimson whatever Castle PE given the season he’s had in em.
Castle, Bam, most of these JB guys don’t get an sig but they could at least have their own cws go out to consumers. That has to feel good to see someone repping you by proxy if they bought it. They like your style or like your game. And that’s what it was about with MJ.
They really get it wrong in how to develop the brand and players’ brands under the umbrella context of a non-sig endorsement. It’s the reason so many guys just fade off with JB or leave for another brand. And the strategy has only changed this year to make the model HARDER to buy.

We just saw like 30 boutiques get raffles for the VAA 1s. If I was a PLM for JB I’d give these doors their own run of a PE, 120-200 pairs, local release only.
Definitely get the buzz going; not a major $ driver but a great way to get energy into the brand without relying on Retro product like they’re stuck doing.

I had the white/red orbits. It’s an incredible-looking shoe and comfortable but I eventually sold my pair because the white mesh upper was dogcrap. I barely wore them outside but the upper yellowed so quickly. As soon as I noticed one day it was beginning to happen, they were gone from my world. I hope JB moving forward sticks to good materials like leather as it brought back for the 40. Or at least find materials that don’t discolor in the blink of an eye if it ever goes back to those essentially plastic textiles. I was so over that crap so quickly. Felt and still feel the same about Flyknit after not too long. Was cool and new but once every damn shoe was made of it … the Kobe XI was the last time I thought that stuff was still cool.
