Is it just me or is there no visible air in the second pic? Can anyone shed some light on this?

No vis air was common on clay court shoes. I really don't know the reasoning, but many of the normal tennis shoes were given different-styled solesfor the clay. Not sure how many were released to be purchased by non-sponsored players, but I think Retrokid has one or two pairs. I haven't seen manyAgassis like that which weren't already on Agassi's feet already.

But, thanks to Retrokid and PYS, I was able to sport Agassi's shirt above and the ATC IIs this weekend. My wife was really embarassed.

He is using a special clay make-up for him which has the Air Trainer I sole - French Open only. knowledge...

well, I don't know if its specifically the Air Trainer 1 sole, but clay courts require a different tread pattern than your usual herringbone pattern forhard courts... he also had custom outsoles for the grass in Wimbledon...

There are slight differences between ATC IIs depending on what surface Agassi is playing on. Each of the 4 majors (Australian Open, French Open,Wimbledon and US Open) are played on different court surfaces so the shoes for him are tailored to be optimised specific to the surface, so that he can competeat the highest level on each.

This is the clay court version (which was not available at general retail, its only for ATP players and very specialist tennis retailers only). Its is not anAir Trainer 1 midsole, rather its a modified ATC II midsole with full length encapsulated air. They covered the window because clay is an abrasive dustysurface which would have dirtied the window like you wouldnt believe. The outsole is a herringbone traction pattern with deepgrooves (also common on manyhardcourt shoes).

Contrast this with the grass court version of these which has the visible air but a 'pimple' style outsole which is better for grass court traction.

ahh... thanks for the clarification... I had initially thought the pimple soles were for clay... trethousandgt's pic...

runs true to size, tried it on this afternoon at transit, but after much debate i decided to pass...it will lose its appeal too fast IMO...hope i dont regret it...also passed on both caps cause they were too shallow for my ginormous cranium...also for the dude who put us on to the hats; how could u pass on that mowabb colorway hat and go with that neon/grey colorway(jk) but yeah walked away empty handed

Noting I just think it might look even better than just white. The Starks 'fade to red' might be alright for these.

That's weird, I ordered mine on Wednesday night, got my confirmation email 5 minutes later and my shipment confirmation + tracking Thursdayafternoon. They are coming in the mail tommorow.

nah, stick with the white laces.... the shoe's loud design draws attention to the speckled lava and black trim.... adding different/loud color laceswill just take attention away from what makes the shoe and creates clutter

FNL Customer Service told me the store responsible for shipping out my ATCs didn't even process my order yet. Ordered on the 2nd, and still waiting...

yeah i ordered mine last sunday and i called customer service on friday and they called the store to remind them to ship it out

but overall, from what I've read, FNL has been pretty good with their shipping right? (I didn't get my pair from them, so I don't know)...
 
wow yours is taking even longer than mine.
I ordered on the 2nd too and got mine on monday the 14.
Sounds like everyone's is taking long from FNL BUT.. i haven't heard of anyone getting cancelled?
