not that it makes it better, but the pick is for 2011

The Patriots keep going back to the well...

Im waiting for a Raiders' fan to justify this trade.

As a Pats fan, at first I was like

, then I realized, now we can resign Wilfork, and draft probably a top DEwith the 2011 pick. I like it.

In Bill, We Trust.

so he's got 1 year left...we win 3-4 games tops, and next year he's gone. anyone else seeing this scenario play out the same? or god forbid worse.

So you're OK with giving up a future top 3 pick to lease a player?

As a Raiders fan, this is pretty unjustifiable. Unless he already has a contract in place, he will be a 1-year lease maybe 2-3 because offranchising. The Raiders suck at 1st round picks, but it doesn't mean we couldn't have gotten lucky in 2011. It undoubtedly fills a need, but at toohigh of a cost. Seymore is already 30, and a lot of things hafta go right for Al and the Raiders for this to be okay.

Raiders = Lions of the west....

and Richard has been a shell of his pro-bowl self for a couple years now....

The Pats do it again...

I don't hate it. I won't start hating Al this year until we start off 0-4

*EDIT* Here comes the Raider fan justification: we didn't just dump off our #1 for 2011, we're just using him in 2009 and he's already a provenmonster who knows how to win in the league and who can make a big impact to a line.

We were trying to make Jets fans and Dolphins fans happy for the next 2 years. We are owed a thank you.

It's definitely a bad trade for the Raiders if they don't keep him past this year, but you know Al will shower him with cash to try and make him stay. However, for the rest of the league, the Raiders with their short-sighted stupidity have made a clear Super Bowl contenders team defense a good amount worse byremoving a pro-bowler/possible future HOFer from it. At least appreciate that.

Pats setting themselves up to land Peppers next offseason....

%%* is wrong w. the Raidahs?

It'll be hilarious if Seymour signs back with the Patriots next year, that's if he doesn't get franchised.
