Living in Florida ( or almost anywhere warm with pollen ) this time of year, allergies are killing me. Anybody got some remedies or the best kind of meds to take? Worst thing is the runny nose and itchy eyes . Smh

Claritin. Every year around this time my allergies act up. Doctor always recommends the same thing.

Find one that works for you and stick with it. The trick is consistency, take it everyday for the season, not just when ythe symptoms pop up. Claritin, Allegra, Zyrtec etc. right now I use Zyrtec and have been for the past few years.

NeilMed Sinus rinse. Use distilled water. You'll feel like you can breath again

i stocked up last year when there were coupons to get these medicines for a few cents and the Zyrtec for free...what works for me is the Zrytec Gel. I tried the new Mucinex Allergy and it works great for me but ran out. I got it a couple weeks ago for only 49 cent from Target with their coupon and manufacture coupon.
here's a pic of what I have left as of right now :lol

I swear by it. Can't guarantee It'll work for you though, but it can't hurt to try.

Here are the ingredients:
Brigham Tea (stem, leaf), Marshmallow (root), Burdock (root), Parsley (leaf), Cayenne pepper (fruit), Goldenseal (root), Elecampane (root), Rosemary (leaf), Cleavers (stem, leaf, flower, fruit)

Claritin, Zyrtec, Allegra .. they've all been inconsistent. Sometimes they work. Sometimes they don't.

Recently started using Kirkland brand, been good so far.

:lol That's a generic version of one of the 3 you mentioned. Which are fine, the ingredients are the same and cheaper.

I'll give it a try...what stores carries them?

Claritin, but not the over counter stuff. The stuff for the meth heads. Claritin D

You need a prescription for that? A nurse randomly recommended me that at the store. Thought it was all the same.

Claritin D is over the counter, but the amount you can purchase is regulated due to an ingredient uthat can be used for meth.

Not sure if it's different nationally, but here you can't buy D over the counter, only regular Claritin which doesn't have the decongestant stuff.

You don't need a prescription, but you need to see the pharmacist and sign for it.

It can be a bit difficult trying to find it in store. Your best bet is a health food store or possibly a place like Whole Foods or Trader Joe. I purchase mine from vitacost online.

I swear I've tried everything but they either don't work or I get too drowsy (yes, I take non-drowsy), so I just stay as much as I can indoors, drive with the A/C on, and ride it out for the week or so every spring/fall.

Loratadine

not sure if the actual Claritin is better or what but might change it up soon. it helps a little but not life changing, you are supposed to take it everyday. Its also good to take if you have sinus issues

Netipot all the way. You suffer because of all the allergens you breath in (pollen, mold, dust, etc.) and that leads to the sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, etc. The Netipot washes out those allergens in your nasal passages. I usually use it 2-3 times a week and then take a Loratadine pill too. A 60 pack is only like $5-$7 at Walmart
