AlliedBarton: Who's worked for them?

Anyone here worked for AlliedBarton (security company)? Seems like an easy job and not to demanding. I'm going to be asking them about an armed position, but not sure if any are available. Anyone have any experiences or stories?

one of my best friends works for them.. he literally brings his PS3 to work and plays madden online all day... He also sleeps alot..

It's a really easy job. I was an SO, so an SPO position may require more work.

Do you have any experience working as an officer? Do you have your gun license?

In order to become eligible to be an armed SPO (if you don't already have your license), you have to be at the company for 6 months.

You get your benefit package after 90 days.

thanks for the info. i will have my gun license very shortly (within the next 20 days). as far as working as an officer, not really, but i spent 6 years in the marine corps. im not really worried about it being "tough" or anything. i just want to know how they treat their employees and if they are a reasonable to good company to work for. They want me to be in the "flex" position, and im not sure i want to be on call 24/7 7 days a week.

i work for allied barton. i work the bike patrol on Penn U. campus. pretty simple, and good money.
i dont think they have too many armed positions. alot of military people do work for this company.

Floater positions are a bia.

You have to be ready whenever they call you.

If you aren't trying to wait for a full-time armed position to open up, you can try a different security company, like Securitas.

Allied Barton treats their employees okay. There isn't much turnover rate, and a lot of positions are held even though it's suppose to be a contract type thing. The only thing I didn't like is the politics. But that's with any job.

Good luck, OP. But I would think with your experience in the marine corps, you could get a much better paying job.

yea thats what i was thinking. I dont want to get a call at 1pm, and its someone telling me i need to be working a graveyard shift. haha i def can get a much better paying job. i just left my big 4 accounting firm job to go to police academy. but it takes time to get into the academy and im completing all the testing. the alliedbarton job is just to fill in the gap and earn some $ to save up. they told me today they have a graveyard shift if i want it, so ill think about if i want to work from 10pm to 6am. thanks for all the info. good lookin out as usual. I haven't worked for Allied Barton but I did work security for a different company. Night shifts I would do absolutely nothing but stand for 8 hrs. it would have been cool if my supervisors weren't always on top of us. But with any security job expect to do nothing especially graveyard shift. I quite after a couple of months because I was losing my sanity.
