Am I immature, selfish, unrealistic for...

Not wanting to be a step father? I rather give my girl her first baby, I mean I know I can love somebodies child like mine but I feel like I prefer to start afamily with someone from scratch, and all by me. I know this sounds real selfish and immature, and kind of unrealistic because I'm 25 and a majority ofgirls around my age group have babies already. In my last relationship her baby father was such a dead beat, we would make plans to drop his daughter to hishouse (he didnt have a car) and when we get there dude would not answer the door or his phone, he basically crapped on my ex. But yet she would let him do thisstuff, and they would talk EVERYDAY...I rather be in a relationship with someone who is 100% mine and I don't have to worry about any outside peoplelingering in our lives. Does anyone else feel like this?

That's not unrealistic at all. Most girls at 25 DON'T have babies. If you we're talking about women 32+ then we'd be talking.

if their father is a worthless dead beat who doesn't know anything about parenting, the kids should definitely not see him.

Yea, I thought I could do it but I rather me and my girl go through her first pregnancy together, it being a new experience for the both of us.

Taking responsibility for something you had no part in creating? Doesn't sound too enticing to me. I wouldn't even want to talk to a woman who had achild.

I'd rather avoid the risk of dealing or hearing about the problems she may have with her "baby's daddy."

The kid could end up being a brat, on top of that.

It would be more genuine to take care of a child who belongs to you and your significant other. Well, at least that's how I look at it.
