Am I the only one who thinks Nas after It Was Written is just eh??

"Take It In Blood" off IWW might be my favorite Nas joint...dude just zoned out on that track.

IWW is not the worst album on the planet. I'm saying I'd rather listen to Illmatic, Stillmatic, God's Son, Lost Tapes .

all those choices are really a toss up..except god son, it was written is way better.

Considering 3 of those came after IWW I guess you disagree with the thread title too.

IWW is my favorite Nas album.

Illmatic has his best verses, but lacks in the production department when compared to IWW. In fact, i'd rather listen to Stillmatic than Illmatic... theproduction on Stillmatic leads me to believe that 2001 was the only year in Nas's rap career when he had ears.

How are so many ppl fronting on this album. Y'all always complaining about Nas' beat selection, the production is there, the lyrics are always there. What's not to like about this?

stillmatic is piff though, it was Nas's phoenix..even though his rhyming was improving on da QB album one album before....i just hold it was

written closer to my heart cuz i remember 1996 like it was yesterday, it was a real impressionable album to me.
church!

beat selection was incredible, and Nas still displayed lyrical dexterity. I honestly rarely skip a track when listening to this album (sometimes Black GirlLost. "Not that white star!

" )

thats what im say in and BEEN sayin....illmatic rhymes and flows with top notch production.

only da back packers were mad that Nas got popular and got money back in 1996, everyone else saw da album for what it was...another classic in Nas discography.

To a certain extent. He never really recaptured the brilliance he displayed on his first album.

But then, who has?

I've always felt Nas started to fall off beginning with I AM. I AM has some bangers but it was all downhill after that album. The era of IWW was so raw,the Nas/ Mobb Deep joints of that era are so piff...too bad they stopped working together.

I like NAS but i agree with OP...

ILLMATIC & IT WAS WRITTEN were his only GREAT TOP TO BOTTOM albums...

Hes had some GREAT SONG SINCE THEN, BUT NOT GREAT ALBUMS...

he's had other great albums..but those 2 are da ones with da most replay value.

Word I can play Illmatic followed by It Was Written and not have to press the skip button once. Even the intro to IWW was crack.

only song i skip is "black girl lost" and thats when i wanna listen to a disrespectful song

I guess you could say it's "eh" in comparison to Illmatic or IWW, but Nas' "eh" is way better than everybody living except bighomie.
