The film states the War on Drugs has become one of the longest[sup]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Drug_War:_The_Last_White_Hope#cite_note-0[/sup] and most costly[sup]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Drug_War:_The_Last_White_Hope#cite_note-1[/sup] wars in American history. Inspired by the death of four family members and close friend Bill Hicks from "legal drugs," Texas filmmaker Kevin Booth sets out to prove his claim that the Drug War has failed. [sup]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Drug_War:_The_Last_White_Hope#cite_note-2[/sup]Three and a half years in the making, the film follows gang members, former DEA agents, CIA officers, narcotics officers, judges, politicians, prisoners and celebrities. There is also extensive treatment of CIA and Contras cocaine trafficking in the US.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIA_and_Contras_cocaine_trafficking_in_the_US. The film analyzes imprisoned drug trafficker Ricky Ross, described by a Los Angeles Times reporter as the "Wal-Mart of crack dealing."[sup]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Drug_War:_The_Last_White_Hope#cite_note-3[/sup] After being arrested, Ross discovered through the work of journalist Gary Webb that his source had been working for the CIA.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Drug_War:_The_Last_White_Hope#cite_note-4

Video showed the number of non-violent drug convictions under each presidency since Nixon. This doc was made during the Bush administration. I'm wondering if the #'s have gone up or down.

if you watch it you'll understand why he asked. the Obama administration is run by the same people as the Bush Administration. so its only probably gotten worse.

i swear i feel like im in a science fiction movie sometimes. the !+*@ our government gets away with is insane.....
and the only reason is because they made us so scared of everything that the ignorant masses actually want to be controlled.
