The 10 Americans were arrested while trying to take more than 30 Haitian children out of the country in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.
Attorney Edwin Coq said Laura Silsby knew the group couldn't remove the youngsters without proper paperwork, while he characterized the other nine missionaries as unknowingly being caught up in actions they didn't understand.

"I'm going to do everything I can to get the nine out. They were naive. They had no idea what was going on and they did not know that they needed official papers to cross the border. But Silsby did," Coq said Thursday after a magistrate charged the 10 at a closed hearing."

Each was charged with one count of kidnapping, which carries a sentence of five to 15 years in prison, and one of criminal association, punishable by three to nine years. Coq said the case would be assigned a judge and a verdict could take three months.

He is not posting about them taking the children, he is posting that they got charged.

I hope those who are responsible serve their time, but they will probably reach out to some politician to get them pardoned.

I'll wait and see where this goes ... but these so called "missionaries" aren't as innocent or naive as some are portraying to be further more instead of looking away, the news needs to report more on how child traffickers use events like this and the subsequent chaos to kidnap children ...

I was looking to see if CNN posted an article on Jorge Puello ..  They did a report today on his resemblance to a someone that is wanted to a prostitution ring in El Salvador for a prostitution trafficking ring .. All I could find one from the New York Times, it has the same information that CNN reported

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — The police inEl Salvador have begun an investigation into whether a man suspected ofleading a trafficking ring involving Central American and Caribbeanwomen and girls is also a legal adviser to the Americans charged withtrying to take 33 children out of Haiti without permission.

When the judge presiding over the Haitian case learned on Thursdayof the investigation in El Salvador, he said he would begin his owninquiry of the adviser, a Dominican man who was in the judge’s chambersdays before.

The inquiries are the latest twist in a politically charged case that is unfolding in the middle of an earthquakedisaster zone. A lawyer for the group has already been dismissed afterbeing accused of trying to offer bribes to get the 10 Americans out ofjail.
